Connor's New Sand Box

So we got Connor a sand box in January. We just now got the sand to go in it. =) He LOVES it. Couldn't pry him away the first couple days!!

And let's try and see if this video works or not. Please let me know!!

Aquarium Trip

So when Grandma and Grandma D came to visit, we all went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. What a difference a couple of months makes! I took Connor here in June of last year with Melanie and Dylan. He liked it but was never focused per se. This time he loved it!! Here are a few pictures:

It's May Already?!?!

Yikes. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday it was the beginning of the year. So good news! Emily rolled over on Sunday from back to front. But hasn't done it again since! LOL! Although when she sees something she wants, she tries to reach for it and get it. I bet she starts moving around here soon!! And if I hadn't already said it, she can sit up on her own for about 15-30 seconds. YEAh!!!!

Other than that, not much going on. Emily slept all last night, sort of. She woke up twice but I went in, put her binkie back in her mouth and she went back to sleep. But they both woke up at 4am. I did put the binkies back in their mouths, took a shower and got ready and Emily had fallen back asleep but Taylor was on her tummy doing tummy time (did I tell you all she is a stomach sleeper!). So I got her dressed and fed her and Emily woke up. Thankfully she has started being like her sister and just sat talking in her crib. Whew!!

Here are a couple pictures of them recently:

Why aren't we sleeping through the night???

Ok, last night. Bath night. I got Emily ready and handed her off to Surbjit to feed. Then I got Taylor ready. Emily fell asleep on Surbjit. Taylor was fighting me (and has been doing that the last couple days). She did eat 5 ozs and then was so tired when I was burping her, her head was on my shoulder and she was fast asleep. Put her in her crib, no crying. Grabbed Emily from Surbjit (who was still sleeping). That woke her up in which I was able to feed her a little more but then she kept fighting me and wouldn't take the bottle. She'd only had 2 ozs. There was NO WAY I could have to go to sleep with just that as that would mean she'd wake up for sure. So I sat her down in her chair. Did a load of laundry and waited for her to get mad. Surbjit got Connor and started gaving him a bath. By this time Emily was starting to cry and freak out so I grabbed her and she ate. She finished about 5 ozs also and was falling asleep so I put her to bed. No crying.

Of course Emily decided to wake up at 12:45am. I tried to just keep giving her her binkie as I don't think she needs to eat at this time. It's just started to become routine for her(which I NEED to break). But in the end, I made a 4 oz bottle and fed it to her. But I swear, half of it ended up on her bib. =( Then Taylor decided to wake up a little after 4am but she was just talking and moving around so I let her be. I finally got her up at 4:45am and got her dressed and ready. And then I had to wake up Emily.

I really hope Emily starts figuring out that waking up at night is NOT a good thing. If I could just get them sleeping through the night again, I'd be a much more rested and happy mom.

What did we do different???

Ok last night, Surbjit fed Taylor and I fed Emily. Neither one ate their whole bottle, they both only had 4 ozs (but they both have been having 7 ozs all day). So we put them to bed at the same time. Emily cried for maybe a minute, then all was quiet and they went to sleep. Connor decided to wake up around 10:30 and came to bed with us. His leg was bothering him. He skinned his knee a little at daycare today but it didn't look bad so not sure what that was about but it seemed like the fabric from his pants was bothering it. So we rolled up his pant leg and he went to sleep next to me. Midnight rolls around and Emily wakes up. I go in to giver her her binkie and she is asleep just crying out. So I give her her binkie, her eyes never open and she sucks on it and appears to go back to sleep. I go to our room but she is now awake so I feed her. I made her a 4 oz bottle only and she went right back to sleep when I put her in her crib. 4am (or should i say 3:56 because my alarm hadn't gone off yet!). Emily is crying again. So go take a shower, get dressed and go feed her which then Taylor decides to wake up. So i feed her. I'm done with both by 5am and then I go finish putting on my makeup and getting ready. UGH!

Bad blogger & last night

I was doing so good for awhile. Then my mom and Diana came into town and I haven't had time since. LOL! No I'm not blaming them. I'm blaming my life with three kids under three. There is never time for anything anymore. I took a couple pictures yesterday of Connor playing in his new sandbox with sand and realized I have 120 pictures on the camera! Geez! Good thing I have a 2GB card in there. UGH! I'll try tonight to download them. I know the girls are chaning so much. I look back at their pictures from when they were a month or two old and they look nothing like that now. And they look so much different from each other now too!

I also wanted to come in here and sort of chronical their nights. Maybe i'll detect a pattern or something.

Last night was bath night. Surbjit fed Taylor, I fed Emily. Taylor kept falling asleep on him. We were also trying new BPA free bottles (Parent's Choice by Wal-Mart). I put Emily to bed and tried to finish Taylor with her bottle. Then I put her to bed. Both babies did NOT cry. (WOO HOO!!!) Both slept all night but decided to wake up at 4:30am. Ugh. Oh well. Poor Taylor had to wait until I was done feeding Emily since she will just sit there and cry while Taylor will sit there and talk for awhile.

So that was our night last night. I want to kinda keep track of when and what happens to see if there is a way to get them to not cry before they go to bed. They don't usually cry for very long but still. It pains me and I'm tired of it. It almost seems like if I put one to bed first and then the other they don't cry. I will have to test that theory out.

4 Month Check up (Ok at 5 months)

The girls had their four month check up on Tuesday. Here are their stats:

Taylor
birth: 6 lbs 7 ozs 18.5 inches
5 months: 14 lbs 7 ozs 24.75 inches

Emily
birth: 4 lbs 13 ozs 17 inches
5 months: 13 lbs 5 ozs 24.5 inches

So Emily is catching up with Taylor!! Although I swear there is more than a one lb difference in weight. If you hold Taylor and then Emily my gosh. Taylor is definitely more heavy. But I think it's because she is more solid than Emily. Emily is my dainty girl!

They both got four shots. And of course, Emily had just started coming down with a cold (runny nose) that morning. She did not fare well with the shots. She had a fever that night and was grumpy. I'm sure not being able to breath out of her nose did not help. So we stayed home Wednesday and she was doing much better by the afternoon smiling again and being her usual self. She seems all fine now but now Surbjit is sick. I sure do hope Connor, Taylor and I don't get it!!!

I know I'm really behind in catching up. I haven't had a chance to blog about Grandma and Grandma D's visit either. I will. Also, Taylor now rolls from back to tummy! And Grandma and Grandma D were able to see it when she did it for basically the first time. Well I will update more later when I have time!!!

Connor picked Strawberries

Last Saturday, Connor and I headed out to Tanaka Farms with my Working Moms group to go on a farm tour and pick strawberries. It was so much fun! We got to ride a wagon pulled by a tractor (Connor's favorite!). It was funny though, every time we stopped he would ask, "all done?". We got to sample fresh grown veggies too. Sugar snap peas, spinach, onions, celery, carrots. Connor didn't really like any of it. Although he did eat some spinach but when I gave him more he spit that out. Hey at least he tries it! The end of our tour concluded with us stopping and picking strawberries. Connor loved picking strawberries . . . and eating them. =) He really didn't pick and and put in the box. I guess that was mommy's job. He would pick a strawberry, say "this is for Daddy" and then proceed to eat it. He probably ate as many strawberries as we brought home! They were really delicious too.

Connor picking strawberries with his friend Jasmine.

Oh, funny story about Connor and Jasmine - after the tour was over we were hanging out talking and letting the kids run around. Well Jasmine WANTED to hug and kiss Connor and Connor was like NO! He kept moving away and trying to get away from Jasmine. It ended up as Connor running in a circle with Jasmine chasing him! It was too cute! Reminded me of the disneyland ride Pirates of the Caribbean where that lady is chasing that guy. Too funny. I have say, Jasmine finally won out and stole a hug and kiss although Connor wasn't too happy. =)

And we ended the day taking some pictures of the strawberry heads that went:

Binkie Free!!!!

I think I can finally say it. Connor is binkie free!!! WOO HOO!!! One night we were sitting watching CARS before going to bed and Surbjit told Connor, since we are watching CARS, no binkie for bed tonight. He said, "OK". We put him to bed and that was it. The next night I said the same thing to him and he said, "OK." and that was that! He hasn't asked for it once since! Of course now his new thing is he wants the door open. I'll take that over the binkie any day!

Mommy & Daddy Go Out

That's right! Surbjit and I were able to get out of the house Saturday night thanks to Bigi! Our friends Jeff and Romy called us up and asked if we wanted to go to Irwindale Speedway because it was 2 for 1 night. Bigi just happened to be there visiting so we asked her if she would watch the kids. She said yes so we took her up on her offer! The racing didn't start until 7pm anyway so we got the girls ready for bed and put them to bed before we left. Of course they didn't fully cooperate and cried for about 10-15 mins but finally went to sleep. I guess Taylor woke up after we left but Bigi held onto her and she feel asleep and was fine the rest of the night. Connor wasn't a big deal either. He got in his jammies and they watched CARS (his all time favorite movie right now!) and then went to bed.

We got home a little after 10pm so we weren't whooping it up at night! It was just nice to get out of the house just us two for once. I can't remember the last time we did that. Ok I can, I was pregnant with the twins and it was the weekend before I went on bedrest. We would have gone out more but that darn bedrest thing got in the way. Oh well

First Family Photo

So last weekend we didn't end up going camping. Long story short our friend hurt himself while he was loading his dirtbike into his truck and had to go to the ER. He did break his toe and will be out of work for awhile but otherwise he is ok. But since we didn't have anyone else to go with, we weren't going to go by ourselves so we cancelled our trip. John and Melissa and Mackenzie were supposed to come out Saturday since we were only going to be camping about 20 minutes from their house so inside, we drove up to their house and hung out for the day. It was a lot of fun. And we were able to take our first family photo of the five of us. Here it is:

I'm really glad we got to hang out with them. Since they live so far away, we hardly get to see them anymore. And Connor and Mackenzie are only 4 months apart. They played really well together. Connor was a little touchy and sensitive that day but I think it's because he was in a new environment and all. Otherwise, he did pretty good.

Rolling Over

And so it's begun! Taylor rolled over for the first time from her tummy to her back this past Saturday. It was so funny. You should have seen the look on her face like woah! What did I do?! I put her on her tummy again and she did it again so it wasn't a fluke. Basically everytime I put her on her tummy she would roll over. =) Now Emily needs to do it. LOL! Taylor is almost ready to roll back to front. She is almost there, she just needs to get her arm out the way. Emily is slowly getting there too.

This weekend we moved both of them out of the co sleeper. We had moved the cosleeper to their bed to make the transition easier and to make it so the crib isn't so big for those little babies. =) Well my little babies aren't so little anymore. Taylor wasn't basically trying to roll over in the cosleeper mashing her face against the top of it so I figured it was time for her to get out. Then Sunday morning I wake up and see Emily all the way down OUT of her cosleeper and kicking the musical thing hanging on the side of her crib and turning the music on. (it got her to go back to sleep at least!). So needless to say we took her out of it last night too. So my babies are growing up. (sniff. sniff.)

It's Official!!!

I got the results of the DNA test back. Taylor and Emily are fraternal twins. I should have figured that out. =) The older they get, the more and more they keep looking less and less alike. It will be very interesting to see and watch them grow up and how they are different. I mean, this is basically just sisters that happened to be born at the same time. So as much as everybody keeps saying Taylor looks like Surbjit and Emily looks like me, I guess we will get to see what our girls that take after each of us look like as they get older. =) I'm still going to keep dressing them alike though. ;-) It's just so much easier when I'm picking out their clothes the night before. LOL!

Connor's Words of Wisdom

This weekend we were playing outside and Connor was in the garage. Here is our conversation:

M: Connor (I can't see him in the garage)

C: (coming out to where I can see him) What?

M: What are you doing?

C: In Daddy's Garage.

M: If that's Daddy's garage, is this Mommy's house?

C: No.

M: Who's house is it?

C: It's Connor's.

Well, I guess he told me!

Easter

Well, the girls first Easter was beautiful!!!! Let's just say we are having a heat wave (and if this is any indication of what's to come this summer, I'll be having one heck of an electric bill!). It got to 92* on Sunday. YIKES!! We woke up and the Easter Bunny visited. He even left his foot prints for Connor to see. He really liked that and was amazed! He opened his Easter basket and didn't play with anything except his tractor trailer (Mack from CARS). Well, he played with his bubbles and sidewalk chalk but just because Mommy did. =)

Surbjit's family came over (minus Debbie - who was on a cruise and Edith - who wasn't feeling good) and we had brunch. I think we'll make that a tradition. It was so nice. It wasn't a lot of work, we just had bagels, muffins and a breakfast casserole, and it was too heavy for food either. It was just perfect! Then we had Connor and Monalicia "hunt" for eggs. (They weren't hidden, you just had to pick them up). Connor did great picking up lots of eggs. Monalicia did great too with Daddy's help and Uncle Harjinder's help too. I can't help thinking about next year when we will have four kids walking around and one that will need "help". The four kids running around picking up eggs will be fun to watch!!! Then we went over to the park to play for a little bit. It was so hot though we only stayed for about half an hour. Connor and Monalicia were so tired they were falling asleep on the way back. Monalicia, Taylor and Emily did fall asleep on the way home and Connor went down for a nap when we got back. Everyone left soon after and we ended up having Connor, Taylor and Emily outside for the rest of the afternoon. It was a beautiful day but HOT!!!! I see many more days like that in our future though because all three LOVE being outside. =)

Connor and the ATV

So for those that know us, you know that we got Connor one of those kiddie ATV's for his birthday. Obviously Surbjit loves riding so of course we are going to get Connor to also. Especially since he always wants to sit on Daddy's quad. So anyway, for his 2nd birthday we got him this quad. He wanted NOTHING to do with it. NOTHING. Wouldn't sit on it, nothing. Lately, he would go over to it and ask "mommy push the but". So I'd push it and ask Connor if he wanted to. He'd say "no, mommy push the but." Then he'd start to get on the quad and try to move it with is feet. Since it is a motorized vehicle, he couldn't move it hardly and would get off. Today, after I got home from work, he got on the ATV and was trying to push it with his feet. I asked him if he wanted to push the button. Again he said "mommy push the but" but he didn't get off the ATV! So I moved his feet onto the quad and pushed the button with him on it. And you know what?!? He liked it!!!! I had to steer him and push the button but he stayed on and wanted more. I asked him to push the button but he never did. Baby steps!

Sleeping Through The Nigh?!?!

For the past three of four nights, both girls have slept the entire night!!! YEAH!!!! I hope this is a trend that continues for many months (even years!!!!). Taylor has taken to waking up and talking. She isn't crying, she just talks. =) It's so cute!!! She will start to cry if you ignore her too long. But she will sit there and talk for probably 15 - 20 mins.

And Surbjit got Taylor to laugh on Saturday night!! It was so cute! I think I got a small laugh out of Emily this morning. I still can't get Taylor to laugh for me. But she is being a little more giving with the smiles these days. =)

Baby Loves Disco

And so did Connor!! (And Mommy too - that's my kind of music!!!). So we went to Baby Loves Disco in Orange County, CA. We had a blast!!! And even though Connor did not nap that day. He did pretty good.

We got there really early. I thought traffic was going to be worse than it did so we ended up being 1/2 hour early. No big deal. We met Melanie and Dylan there. So we walked around a little and waited in line. We were like the fourth people in line. I'm glad we got there early. The line kept growing and growing!!! We went inside and checked it out. This club that this was at had a HUGE fish tank complete with a shark (hence why the club's name is The Shark Club!). Connor LOVED that tank. We probably spent half our time watching it. But we also got out there and boogied! Connor danced and jumped and shook some shakers and used the hula hoops. I think he had a good time. They also had TONS of snack there for the kids (and adults too). The snacks included goldfish, cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies, juice boxes, etc. (this was all included). They also had their menu at the club you could order from and the parents could order drinks too. All around the club were various vendors. There was a yoga class going on, some massaging too (I didn't do this DARN!), a storyteller, face painting, temporary tattoos and hair coloring for the kids (washable of course!). There was also a chill out area complete with tents, pillows, games and books for the kids to do. And of course, there was the dance floor! They had bubbles going, egg shakers, hula hoops and scarves for the kids to play with while they danced. And the DJ played lots of good disco and 80's music for everyone to enjoy. Basically all the good music that is appropriate for kids to hear but none of the "kids" music (you know like Barney, Doodlebops etc. NONE of the that!).

So we had a good time. We ended up leaving after about an hour and a half. Since Connor hadn't napped he was getting grouchy. So Melanie and I left and we headed to South Coast Plaza to eat dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Connor loved it! He got to see water and elephants and alligators and gorillas. He was kinda scared but not. I was afraid he might have nightmares that night but he was fine! On the way home, I was asking Connor if he was tired and of course he said No as his eyes were closing. =) He fell asleep as soon as I got off the freeway. I had to carry him inside the house. =) We changed into our PJs. Watched part of our favorite movie (CARS) and then when I told him it was time for bed he did not complain ONE bit!! I think he was tired!!!!

So it was a good time. I guess I would take the girls since they are free (non-walkers are free) but I don't think they'd get much out of it other than watching all around. If I had a child that was just starting to walk I don't think I'd take them as there were a TON of people and your child would probably get run into. Everyone was very nice and careful but with that many people it's hard not to bump into people. I have pictures on my camera. Once I download them, I will share!!!

Easter Bunny

So we went to see the Easter Bunny on Sunday. I wasn't going to hold my breath since visiting Santa last year was oh so good (insert rolling eyes here). So we went with my North OC Moms Working Group. We met them at the Brea mall. Poor Surbjit. He was the only guy there but there was no way I would be able to handle all three kids by myself. Plus there was supposed to be at least one other father there but he didn't go. Oh well. I guess Surbjit could have stayed home with the girls since they were sleeping the whole time anyway but it was nice to get out. It was a beautiful day!!

So anyway, we got to the Easter bunny and there was no one else there. YEAH! So we got in line. One of the moms went but her daughter was NOT cooperating so she asked someone to go ahead of her that way she can watch and maybe be ok with it. So I jumped in and said ok since Connor was just itching to go see the Easter Bunny. We got up to him and he said hi to the Easter Bunny and I told him to sit next to him. He climbed right up there and sat down. No crying no fussing no nothing!!! =) So the lady is not ready to take the picture. I'm like yikes! How long will this last? So I start talking to Connor about the Easter Bunny and what he's going to do and I tell him to talk to the Easter Bunny and he's looking at him and repeating everything I"m saying! FINALLY, the lady is ready and we take the picture! It actually came out pretty decent. He didn't want to smile at first but Daddy got him to smile.

We didn't have the girls take their picture with the Easter Bunny because Taylor was sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up. Emily was up but I couldn't very well have her just take the picture. I can imagine Taylor later in life "I'm scarred because my sister took a picture with the Easter Bunny and I didn't." Next year definitely!!!

The Weekend

So let's see. What did we do this weekend. Saturday we went to Chris Jr's 2nd birthday party. Ok, that makes me feel guilty for not having a birthday party for Connor for his 2nd birthday but really, what was I supposed to do? I had week old infants! It was Thanksgiving so he had a HUGE meal and he got pumpkin pie. =) Plus, he did not need any more toys then he got from family anyway! I still have some of them sitting in his closet! LOL!

Anyway, back to the birthday party. So we put Connor down to nap early (12:15-12:30) since the party was starting at 2. He's been napping barely an hour lately so we figured no problem. It was 2:45 and he was still napping!! So we finally had to wake him up. We woke him up and got going and got to the birthday party about 3:20pm. Just in time for the pinata! Connor got to swing at it (although I had to help and after two swings he was so NOT interested in doing it anymore). He did have fun picking up the candy and immediately wanted to eat it. Then we got to watch Chris jr open presents. Of course Connor wanted to play with the presents. I had to keep telling him that they were not his and that Chris would open then later. While we were watching Surbjit was over in the corner with the twins just hanging out. They feel asleep on our way there and slept almost till we left. They were up for probably about 20 mins before we left. There was also a jumper there that of course Connor would NOT go into. Grrr. I don't know if he will ever go in one. I guess I just have to keep trying.

After the party we went over to Romy and Jeff's house. We haven't hung out with them for a long time. Connor got to play with Dylon (their grandson) and Katrina (their daughter). It was nice to see him playing with kids his age. Romy and I held the girls and I ended up feeding them while we were there too. We ate dinner and then we headed home a little before 9pm. Late night for Connor!! He went home and straight to bed and I tried to give the girls some more to eat and got them ready for bed. Taylor of course slept the whole night, Emily woke up at 2:30am. Then was up a little after 5am for the day. I was so tired yesterday.

Sunday we stayed at home. It was a beautiful day! Well, actually Connor went with me grocery shopping. It seems that's what we do on Sunday's now. =) And then we went and got his hair cut. He did really well. He cried when I first put him in the chair but then he fine the rest of the time and even enjoyed it. Bigi and Uncle Harjinder came over in the afternoon and we played outside. Connor had fun with his water table and playing on his clubhouse climber.

Last night, the girls did pretty good. They were both in bed at 8pm. I don't know if it's just because there are two of them crying or what. When we put them in bed, it doesn't matter if they've fallen asleep on us while eating or not, they wake up and start crying. So we give them their binkie, for Taylor we put the vibrate thing on under her bed or for Emily we put the music on and leave. After about 5-10 mins, they fall asleep. Sometimes, Emily won't wake up and will just sleep but Taylor, it never fears, she wakes up. But then I don't know if it's because they are feeding off of each other but it seemed to me if we put them both down to sleep at the same time they would cry longer. I don't think this is the case. I think it's just me thinking they are crying longer because there is two of them crying. Know what I mean?? In any event, they both fell asleep withing 10 mins last night of us putting them down. Emily then decided to wake up at 11:30pm. I had fallen asleep at 9pm. I guess Surbjit said he grabbed her and held her and she started to fall asleep again so he put her back in bed and she started crying again. He came into bed and we waited to see if she would fall back asleep on her own but after 10 mins I got up and made her a bottle. She ate a whole 1/2 oz. Oh well. She fell asleep while I wad feeding her, I put her in her crib and she did not make a peep. I woke up at 4:15am and both never woke up. I actually had to wake both of them up this morning when I was getting ready.

So anyway, that was our weekend. I am so excited that I have Friday off and I get to relax. I don't think there is anything that I "have" to do. So maybe I can get some sleeping in and clean the house a little bit. I'm so looking forward to it!!!

Dare I Say It?!?!

I think Taylor is finally sleeping through the night consistently! (Ok watch, tonight, she won't sleep through the night). Emily is hit or miss. Last night she slept through the night. YEAH!! That means I got uninterrupted sleep last night. =) That was nice. Of course my body still woke up at 2:30 and was like what's up? Let's wake up now. ;-) Um, NO! But I did end up having to wake up at 4am. One of the girls kept crying out. By the time I looked at the monitor I couldn't tell who it was. Sometimes it sounded like Taylor and sometimes it sounded like Emily. It was probably each of them at different times. So I woke up and took a shower and started to get dressed. I didn't actually have to go in their room until 4:50 though. =) So I got to sit down and watch tv for like 10 mins. Of course Connor decided to wake up at 4:40am. So he went into bed with Daddy while he finished sleeping. Kids.

ETA: Since Joanna commented about her's sleeping from 11pm - 6am I guess I should say what time, huh?!? Let's see, Taylor is sleeping from 8pm - 4 or 5am. Emily is 8pm til about 1:30 or 2:30am if she wakes up and then I get her up at 5:30am. So there ya go! We actually start getting them ready for bed (bath, change, feed) at 7pm. Depending on how long it takes them to eat depends on what time they go to bed. Sometimes it takes them an hour to eat (if they are falling asleep and/or playing with the bottle). I'll give one of them a bath (which ever is more fussy) and dress them for bed and then hand her over to Surbjit to feed. Then I do the same to the other one, but I feed this one. Sometimes we'll end at the same time depending on how they do eating wise. =) And of course by the time we start getting them ready for bed Connor "should" be bed. We usually put him to bed by 7pm, 7:30 at the latest. I know I always have a TON of questions about what people do at night so I hope that helps!!!

Connor's Words of Wisdom

I don't know what else to title it. If I think of something better, I'll change it.

So we were playing with three of Connor's cars yesterday in his high chair while Daddy finished making dinner. He had "parked" one of his cars and Connor says, "car in time out". Surbjit and I look at each other. Surbjit asks Connor, "why is the car in time out?" Connor says, "because car no listen." So apparently, I guess it's getting through to Connor that when he doesn't listen to Mom and Dad he gets a time out. Do I think he'll start listening now? No.

Exciting News!!!

BOTH of the girls slept the entire night last night!!! WOO HOO!!! They cried out here and there but they never cried like they were hungry and basically it was a cry like I'm still here and then they fell back asleep. WOO HOO! I was so excited. I kept waking up every 1/2 hour from like 1:30 - 4:00 when I finally woke up thinking wow, this is strange. I hope this is a trend that will continue for the most part! That would be VERY nice. I know there will be nights here and there that they will wake up and need food (growth spurts etc). but if this could be the "norm" it would make momma VERY happy!!!

3 month pictures

So we took the kids to get pictures taken. We brought Connor in the hopes of getting a picture with all three kids. Um, yeah, didn't happen. Connor was in a mood. Let's just say, Surbjit ended up taking him home before we were even done to give him a spakin'. Daddy bought Connor a tractor trailer (his new love now) and he wanted it open NOW!!!

So anyway, we never got pictures of the three of them. We did get pictures of all three, just not together. Connor cooperated (finally!) and we got a picture of him alone. That worked out good for me anyway since I never got to get his 2 year pictures taken. I was kinda occupied with twins when that happened. Oh well. 3 months later isn't too bad!

The girls cooperated for the most part. We didn't get any smiles. =( They smiled before, they smiled after but they did not smile during. Oh well. We went to Sears. It wasn't bad and I got the CD with all the pictures so I can make as many copies as I want. I should print out some today so I can bring them to work. Since I have them, I can share them with you here. So enjoy!

Pictures from Knott's Berry Farm

Well since I have a hard time finding time to download pictures from my camera, it's a good thing Melanie took pictures at Knott's. Here they are:

Last Night was HORRIBLE

I don't know what it is. It is so hard to get Taylor to go to bed. We put Emily down and she is FINE and will move around a little but will then fall asleep. Taylor, you have to hold until she falls asleep and I mean REALLY fall asleep. But last night she was in rare form. Something had to be bugging her. She would just start crying out for no reason. I don't know what was bugging her. This lasted from 8pm until 10 pm when she finally fell asleep in my arms. So i kept her with me on the chair and tried to catch a few zzz's. I was afraid if I laid her down, she'd wake up mad. Of course who starts crying at 11pm? You guessed it. Miss Emily. So I put Taylor down in the rocker (who of course wakes up almost immediately) and make a bottle for Emily. I grab her and try to feed her. She only took like 2 ozs. So I put her back in bed and grabbed Taylor again. I got her to calm down and fall asleep. I laid down with her in my arms on the chair and I feel asleep too. Woke up at 2:30 with who crying? You guessed it. Miss Emily again. I put Taylor down again (and she wakes up and starts crying). I grab Emily and try to feed her again. She's not really eating she's falling back asleep. UGH!!! Why does she do this to me? So she's waking up because she's used to it? I'm not sure. I guess time will tell. So I put her back in her bed and of course she starts crying. So I grab Taylor and hold her. She falls back asleep and I listen to Emily crying for 30 mins. So I decide to put Taylor in her crib and grab Emily. Taylor started to cry when I put her in but after giving her her binkie twice she was ok and fell back asleep. So I grabbed Emily and I put her in her swing to see if she would fall asleep and I lay down on the chair. She's not falling asleep and I feel guilty for just letting her sit in the swing so I grab her. We lay down on the chair and she starts to fall asleep. I get comfortable and we lay there until 4:30am when I put her back in her bed (she didn't make a peep) and I go get ready to go to work. So needless to say, I am EXHAUSTED tonight. And of course they were both FINE this morning. Taylor eating 6ozs and Emily eating 4 ozs. My gosh. WHY do they do this me??? I hope that this is not going to become a routine of theirs.

Connor's First Trip to Knott's

So I took Connor to Knott's Berry Farm for the first time on Monday. I figured since the girls daycare was still open on Monday but Connor's wasn't, this would be the perfect time to have Connor and Mommy time. So I talked to Melanie to see if her and Dylan wanted to do something with us and we decided on Knott's!

We got there and all Connor wanted to do was ride the choo-choo train. So we found the choo-choo train first. When the ride was over, he started to cry. He didn't want to leave. I had to explain to him that we had to take turns and ours was over but we could go back on it later. That seemed to calm him down. Then we saw the race cars and he wanted to ride the race cars. We got to watch them go once. I was a little skeptical about him liking it. It basically moves in an oval and when you get to the end turns it flings you around. I wasn't too sure if he would like that. He seemed pretty unsure at first but about halfway through he gave me his little oh look like wow this is fun. And when we got off he was fine and said he had fun!

Then we saw a school bus and Dylan wanted to ride that so we asked Connor. At first he said no but I think when he saw Dylan going towards it, he wanted to ride it. So we got on. We didn't have the benefit of seeing this ride go once through though. It started and it goes up and around kind like the pirate ship. He wasn't too into this. We started singing the Wheels on the Bus and he calmed down a little but thankfully the ride didn't last long.

Then we saw the Big Trucks and he wanted to ride on that. Of course halfway through the ride he says all done! I'm like no we still have a little way to go. He was fine. Then we went back on the train ride again. We asked him if he wanted to go in the bounce house and he said, no it's too big. =)

After the train ride again we decided to go on the merry go round. He said he wanted to ride the zebra so we got on the zebras. He wanted to almost immediately get off but I distracted him and we ended up riding the whole time trying to beat Dylan and Melanie. =) Then we went to get some food. We ate at the little diner. I still can't believe how expensive food is there. It was $13 for one cheeseburger, fries and a drink. Connor and I shared! After lunch we went to find the Big choo-choo train. Unfortunately they had some sort of oldie type bus instead of the train so it didn't look like a train. But it was right by the Calico Mine Ride which looks exactly like a train. So Connor wanted to go on that. I wasn't sure if he'd like it because it's basically all in the dark. So we waited in line (which wasn't too much). When we got to the front, we had to wait for the next train but Connor started going underneath the barrier he wanted to ride NOW. We got on and he was all excited to go. When they blew the whistle he was so excited. He rode the whole thing and did not cry once! When we got off I asked if he liked it and he said yes. When we got off and were walking by again and said we'd go on the train ride again (thinking the train in Camp Snoopy) he wanted to ride that one again! So I think he liked it. =)

So then we went back to Camp Snoopy and rode the train one more time and then we left. It was a good day. He listened for the most part and was a good boy. I'd definitely take him back with me again. It was neat to see it from his perspective.

First Camping Trip

Was great! Ok, not great but great. It was a beauitful weekend! I couldn't ask for anything more. It was nice enough that I actually was able to bring the girls outside on Saturday and sit outside enjoying the fresh air! I was even outside with Taylor on Sunday. Emily didn't get to come out because she fell asleep in the swing and I didn't want to move her.

So we ended up not getting to camp until 6pm on Friday. We left at 1pm. Traffic sucked! And the poor kids stuck in their car seats. Connor napped for a whole hour on the entire ride there. The girls basically slept the whole time but woke up when we stopped for gas. That was a JOKE. There were so many motorhomes and truck/trailers that it was a mad house trying to get gas. I ended up having to drive the truck (we were towing it behind the motorhome) away from the gas pumps so Surbjit wasn't blocking this guy in and so he could manuever better. UGH!! Of course that also meant Surbjit was stuck with three crying kids while he was fueling up. As soon as we hooked back up and got going, I fed the girls in their car seats. We had about 45 mins more until we got to camp from that point.

We got to camp and figured out where we were going to park and stuff and got the motorhome set up for camping. Surbjit took Connor outside with him to play while I took care of the girls. They both came inside after Surbjit finished setting up what he could outside and we got Connor ready for bed and let him watch Thomas & Friends. He did not go to bed until 10:30!!!! Let's just say Connor didn't sleep much this weekend.

We put the girls in their beds about that time too and we all went to bed. Connor woke up in the middle of the night crying so we brought him into bed with us. Then like an hour later one of the girls woke up so I fed her. It was constantly like that all night. I don't think we got much more than an hour sleep at a time. We got up with the girls at 6 am and Connor ended up sleeping until 7am.

In the morning, Surbjit took Connor in his truck and they went 4x4 ing. They had Curtis and Braeden in the truck with them. Connor wanted to do everything Braeden was doing. It was fun to watch him this weekend playing and interacting with other kids. He does really well. I just basically hung out with the girls all weekend. It was nice.

The ride home was basically the same as the ride there except it took an hour less! But we have decided no more 3 hour (what it's supposed to take us) camping trips with the girls this small. It's just too much for them. They were really fussy both when we got there and when we got home. I wouldn't be happy sitting in the carseat that long either.

3 Months Old!!!

So yeah I'm a day early. Sue me. =) We are going to busy tomorrow getting ready and leaving for our first camping trip since June of 2007. Can you believe we didn't go camping for almost 8 months?!?! I can't. This will be the girls first camping trip. I am looking forward to it. I just know that Connor is not going to get a lot of sleep while we are camping (how can you when there are two babies that are crying in the same space as you) but maybe he'll amaze me. I mean when the girls cry, it really doesn't phase him. They could be sitting next to him while he's watching TV crying away and he's still watching TV ignoring them.

So anyway, let's see. I didn't really update what Connor was doing each month but I'd like to do that with the girls. It's funny. They usually say the 2nd, 3rd etc child gets less and less told or written about and I'm trying to do just the opposite. I'm not sure if it's because there are two or just things I wished I'd done when I had Connor.

So anyway, let's start with Taylor:
  • She is for the most part sleeping through the night. She sleeps from 9pm until 4 or 5 am. WOO HOO!!!
  • She is a TALKER!! I love it. She will start cooing and babbling and talk your ear off. Connor was NEVER like this. I LOVE IT!!
  • She is smiling. She reserves them though for special moments. She won't just smile at you because you smiled you have to get it out her.
  • She is my laid back girl. Because she is so laid back, sometimes she gets overlooked because of her sister. I know I can give her a binkie and she'll settle down. I feel bad sometimes because her sister is so fussy at times she is just left there but that's because she is so easy-going (thank god!).
  • She has pretty good neck control. I can set her on my lap in a sitting position and she will pretty much hold her head for awhile. Still not good enough for the exersaucer yet though.
  • She is eating anywhere from 4-6 ozs of formula at a time. She is pretty much a good eater.
  • She has just now started wearing 3-6 month clothes. She fits some 0-3 month clothes but they are tight on her. Forget the 0-3 month onsies. They do not fit her. They are too short through the torso.

Ok, now for Emily:

  • She's my smiler!!! She will smile at you the minute you smile at her. And her smile lights up her whole face!!!
  • She does talk a little. Not as much as Taylor but she still coo's and babbles.
  • She is my fuss bucket as I like to call her. She is high maintanence (I'm sorry to her future boyfriends and husband!) She does not like to be ignored. If I'm payint attention to Taylor and she's awake, she'll start getting fussy but once I start talking to her she's fine. She LOVES to be held!
  • She is NOT sleeping through the night. :sigh: She has gone all night (9-4) but she will kick around, cry out, and basically be just fitfull sleeping. Otherwise, she'll wake up crying around 2- 2:30, we'll feed her 4 ozs, put her back to bed and she's fine until the morning. Oh well. I guess she is just not ready to go all night without eating yet.
  • She has really good neck control. I would feel comfortable putting her in the exersaucer but I'm going to wait on that for about another month yet. Just to make sure she's got really good control.
  • She is eating about 4-6 ozs of formula at a time also. She is a VERY messy eater. I swear half the bottle goes on her bib and not in her mouth. Still not sure if it's her or the bottle (I HATE Avent bottles).
  • She is still wearing 0-3 month clothes. I think she will be in them for another month. She is still smaller than her sister but she is fastly gaining on her!!!

Well I think that's about it for now. I had wanted to put some pictures on here last night but the girls did not cooperate for me to have time to do that. I will definitely bombard after this weekend since I'll probably have a bunch from their first camping trip.

Beautiful Weekend

It was absolutely beautiful this past weekend in Southern CA!! It was so nice. It was almost like the beginning of summer. I had a stroller walk planned for Tri-City park with my working Mom's group so I was planning on taking the girls and leaving Connor with Daddy to do whatever. I told Surbjit, if he wanted we all could go and he could take Connor to the playground to play. And that's what we ended up doing. =) Bigi even came over and met us since that park is really close to their house. So I walked (3 laps at .6 miles a lap so 1.8 miles!) and they went and played on the playground. Let me tell you, it got HOT!! So that was a nice fun day. In the afternoon, Connor played outside in the backyard while we sat at the patio table and the girls slept. It was nice to just sit and relax and enjoy the kids.

This weekend will be the girls first camping trip (if they can stay healthy). They might be getting sick though. I thought I was in the clear with Connor getting them sick since they hadn't shown any signs but they are sounded congested. No snot or runny noses yet though so let's keep our fingers crossed. I turned the heat down in the house at night thinking maybe it's dry and that's what's doing to them. Who knows.

Connor and potty training - what's that?? He still has very limited interest in it. He does go every night before getting his PJs on so that's a start. And he gets an M&M every time he goes. So you'd think he'd tell me more. He did tell me Saturday evening he had to go potty and we went in the bathroom and he did go! And he still went before bedtime too. So I guess baby steps. He still won't let us know when he goes poop. His new thing is when we ask him if he went poop he says " I didn't I didn't!" And he's very adament about it too (even when he did go poop!). Oh well.

The girls were cranky yesterday. Not sure if it's because they didn't get a lot of sleep yesterday or because they are getting sick. Not sure. We put them bed by 10pm and they slept till 4am so that was nice. I could tell they were exhausted they would just keep waking up so I was happy they slept the whole night in their room. Maybe they just needed the quiet dark to stay asleep.

Well, that's about it for now. I can't wait to go camping this weekend although I'm not looking forward to packing the motorhome. Just when we got it to where we didn't need to pack everything and the kitchen sink because Connor was older we are back to doing that again. Oh well. Such is life! It'll get easier again in a few months!!!

Sleep

Sleep is all I'm about right now it seems. =) Well we got the girls to bed before 10pm last night. Connor woke up thirsty and didn't want to go back to bed but we made him. But he kept crying out last night. Not sure what is up with him. The girls slept through the usual 2 am feeding but Taylor woke up at 4am along with her brother so we brought both of them into bed with us. I then got up at 4:30 and took a shower and then we got everyone up and dressed for the day so it was an early morning for us. But at least I got to sleep through the whole night.

Unfortunately, I guess Surbjit has been having a heck of a time with the kids this morning. He called me at work on his way to drop off Connor and he was crying in the background. I guess he's been crying since they left the house so he wanted to share the love. =) Poor guy (surbjit not connor). I guess the girls weren't any better this morning for him either. Ugh. I hate days like this.

Halleleuiah I feel like a rested woman!!!!

Wow, I actually got a great night sleep last night! WOO HOO!! Who'd of thunk it! So last night we put the girls to bed. Emily seemed like she did not want to go bed although we could tell she was really really tired. So we put her in bed and she cried for about 10-15 mins and was asleep. I put Taylor to bed and she didn't make a peep. I believe they were both in bed before 9pm. THEY SLEPT THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!!! I did hear them cry out during the night. I'd hear someone cry out. I'd look at the monitor to see who it was and neither of the girls was moving so I could never tell who it was. I actually woke up at 3:30am and was like gee, you mean I still have another hour to sleep. =) It was awesome!

Unfortunately though, Connor ended up in bed with us. He has caught a cold so my little germ factory has a stuffy nose, etc. Poor guy. So he ended up in bed with us around 11:30 or 12:30 I think. I can't remember. And I actually slep fine with him in between us. He's gotten a lot better and doesn't move around as much when he sleeps now (thankfully!) but I guess Surbjit was telling me he was digging into him at some point during the night and he didn't sleep very well with Connor there.

The bad thing about him being in our bed - we both got up and got dressed. Surbjit was taking a shower and I was feeding Emily and I hear thump, thump thump thump. I knew immediately it was Connor getting out of our bed. Sure enough, here he comes all bleary eyed into the living room. You could tell he was tired and not feeling 100% but as soon as he woke up, you couldn't tell he was sick at all playing and walking around and just being Connor. It was really nice to see him this morning before i left for work. Although the stinker wouldn't give me a hug. But he did say I love you without me telling him too. =) Melts my heart. =)

Last Night

Ok, if every night was like last night I might be able to survive. I was in bed and asleep by 10pm. Neither of the girls gave us a fight in going to bed either. Taylor woke up a little before 2 am. I fed her and then fed Emily since she was moving around and was back in bed by 2:30am. Woke up at 4:30am to get ready for work. Now's that's my kind of night! Of course I'd love it if they slept the whole night but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon! LOL!

Mom's Night Out but EXHAUSTED now.

Mom's Night out last night was fun. We went to The Melting Pot. All I have to say is Chocolate fondue YUM!!!! Oh my god. We had the original one that had chocolate with peanut butter and it was just YUMMY! It was yummy with the strawberry, the banana the orea covered marshmellow basically anything dipped into it was YUMMY!!! The rest of the meal was ok. I didn't realize you actually cook the meat yourself. They give you raw meat, we got filet mignon, chicken, salmon, and shrimp and you dip it in the boiling water that is flavored with broth etc and it cooks the meat that way. It was good, I just worry that I need to make sure I cook it enough so it's not underdone. But anyway, it was really good. Only bad thing is I didn't get home until 11:30pm woke up at 2am to feed Emily and then Taylor and did bottles otherwise we wouldn't have had any in the morning. So I got back in bed at 3:45am to wake up at 4:30am. So I'm running on 3 hours sleep. Can you say EXHAUSTED. I had a ton of fun but I won't be doing that again anytime soon. At least not until the girls are sleeping through the night.

I have to say though, I think they are going through another growth spurt. They are eating like crazy. At least Taylor is. I guess both of them had 6 ozs at their 3pm feed and then Taylor had almost 8 ozs at 8pm and then woke up at 2:30 and gobbled down another 4 ozs. Since she had almost 8 ozs I wasn't expecting her to wake up. Oh well. And on the sleeping front Emily goes down for bed easily!! Of course when she wakes up at night to eat she doesn't really go back to bed though. :( Taylor on the other hand UGH! She won't go to sleep but when she finally goes to sleep she'll usually sleep through the rest of the night. Can't I make them have the best of each other and have them go to bed easily and sleep through the night?!?! I know this will get easier and they will eventually sleep through the night and this will be a distant memory but can't it be sooner rather than later?

Back at Work

So I'm back at work now. It really isn't too diffucult to leave the kids. I think I'm just use to it since I've done it for so long now with Connor. It's nice to see them when I get home though. I won't lie. =) Work is fine. It's as if I was never gone. I just got back into my routine here no problem. Only difference is I get to take the train from Buena Park now so I'm home right at 5:30 now which is nice. That's 10 mins earlier than before. And about 5 more mins of sleep on the train each way too.

Yesterday wasn't too bad but today I am just totally exhausted. Don't ask me why either. Surbjit did the night shift last night and poor guy's been up since 1 this morning. I put the kids to bed last night. Emily was passed out by 9:30pm but Taylor did not want to go to sleep. I could tell she was tired but she would just stare at me as I held her. Finally at 10:30 I was like you gotta go to bed so I put her in bed fully awake. Usually she'd cry after I did this but she didn't make a peep. Yeah! But then Emily woke up at 1am so Surbjit fed her 2 1/2 ozs (all she would take) and put her back to bed but she just kept crying out every so often that he couldn't fall back asleep and stayed up. I was dead to the world. At least Taylor slept through till 5 am this morning. Why can't we get both of them to do that at the same time though?!?

Tonight I'm going out with my working moms group for a mom's night out. We are hitting up the Melting Pot. Should be fun. I've always wanted to go and never had anyone to go with so this is perfect! It'll be a late night though because our reservations are for 8:30pm. Oh well. I'll get to take a nap this weekend (hopefully!). Or maybe I'll get to take a nap at work tomorrow. Hee hee!

Well, I should go but I want to tell you about something funny that Connor said the other day. We (Surbjit, Connor and myself) were in the kitchen and Connor was eating dinner last week. Surbjit let out this big fart. Connor looked at us and said "Daddy poo poo." We busted out laughing hysterically. It was so funny. Poor Connor though must have thought we were laughing at him because he burst out crying. My poor son. He is so sensitive sometimes. Hopefully he grows out of that.

First Week Down

Well, the girls have made it through their first week at daycare. And I got quite a bit done this week that I needed to get done. Of course my house still isn't clean but I don't think it ever will be completely clean! They seem to do great with Jackie and are doing good at night for the most part. I think I figured out the best way to put them to bed now. I have to do them one at a time. That way there is only one crying at one point in time. It worked for the most part last night. I put Emily to bed and she cried for a little bit but then feel asleep. Then I put Taylor to bed and she cried out occasionally but never woke up her sister and finally feel asleep too. I got them in bed around 10pm and they slept until 1:30am and 2am. So it wasn't too bad.

I go back to work on Monday. I'm looking forward to it and I'm not. I can't believe I've been off work for 5 months. FIVE MONTHS! It will definitely be an adjustment.

First Day of Daycare

So today is the twins first day at daycare. I don't know if I mentioned it but they are not going to the same place that Connor is going to. They are going to a lady named Jackie that lives in our neighborhood. She actually used to watch our friends daughter which is how we found her. I had called back when I had Connor trying to get him in there but she didn't have any openings at that time. This time I got really lucky and she had spots for both of the girls!! I thought I was really going to have a hard time finding room for two babies.

So today was Surbjit's first day getting all the kids ready and out the door. He did good. The girls were cooperative today and so was Connor so that helped. Hopefully they stay cooperating. I'll be able to help until about 5:40am when I leave to catch the train but after that he's on his own. And this morning he did everything. I just stayed in bed. =) It was nice to sleep in.

So this will be this week and then I'm back at work in one week. I'm looking forward to it and I'm not. It'll be nice to actually get back into a routine but I'm dreading all the e-mails and crap that is waiting for me. One day at time, right?

Subscribe!

Now you don't have to keep checking this blog to see when I've updated. LOL! Just go to the right and you can see a place to put in your e-mail address and you will be notified whenever my blog is updated! So enjoy! And I promise I will try and update more often!!!

It's been a Month!

I really can't do this! I need to update more often. Bad me. Actually I've been busy updating the blog with past thoughts I have written down in other places so that's why there is old posts on here. It's not because anyone is crazy. LOL! I did all those today. I can't believe the girls are going to be 2 months old tomorrow.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've said to myself how easier this would be if I only had one. But, you have to deal with that hand that dealt and I think Surbjit and I doing pretty good. It's getting easier as the days go on. We have gotten the girls into somewhat of a schedule. They wake up at 5am so we can get ready and out the door to work. Poor Surbjit is going to have his hands full in the morning but he'll do just fine. I'll help with feeding one of the girls in the morning before I leave for work but I leave at 5:45 am so he'll have an hour after I'm gone to be all alone. I know he'll do fine though.

The girls eat about every three hours right now. I wake them up if they haven't woken up. I know they say never to wake a sleeping baby but let me tell you. You don't want the two of them bunching up on you. I've had a crying baby while I'm feeding the other and that is no fun!! We have a bedtime routine and for the most part, the girls understand it's time to go to bed. They get a bath every other night and then we change them and feed them. We usually feed them at the same time because they don't normally wake up at the same time. Emily will wake up once sometimes twice a night and Taylor wakes up twice sometimes once a night. It seems they are starting to only wake up once a night but I don't want to jinx it! So I'm getting sleep. It's not too bad. I just have to go to bed right when the girls do and I'm usually fine all day.

They are both smiling now and they have beautiful smiles! It just melts my heart. Everytime I put Emily on the changing table to change her, she starts smiling at me. It's just absolutely melts my heart. I've been trying to get a picture of them smiling but that's not happening so much. But I'll keep trying!

In Connor news (we can't forget about big brother right!) he's doing pretty good. We went to a 2 year old birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese this past Saturday. He is momma's boy. He is a scaredy cat of all the rides. He wouldn't get on anything even though his friend would ride it. They have a phone that you can talk with Chuck E on and that is what he was glued to the whole time. He also just this past week started carrying a stuffed animal around. It's a bunny that sings and plays music, I think it's called the laugh and learn bunny. He found it in the bottome of his toy pile and started playing with it. He wanted him to eat with him so bunny sat in his high chair with him complete with bib. It was just too cute! He even talks to bunny and says bunny eat and will feed him his food! Here is Connor and bunny eating pizza!!
Not much else to say. We still haven't been camping yet but are planning on braving it coming February. Connor keeps asking and LOVES the motorhome. We can't get him out of there without a fight when we bring it home. So I know Connor can't wait to camping. It'll be interesting having three kids camping.
It's definitely different going from one kid to three but we are managing and it's getting better day by day. I just think of the future and how fun they will all have playing together and just watching them grow up. I am also very interested to see the girls develop and see how different or alike they look and act. I can already tell they are both extremely different temperament wise so it'll be fun to see them interact together.
Well, I better get going. I've got some stuff to do before it's feeding time again!!

The Nights Have to Get Better. =(

One month old today! Geez! I can't believe they are already a month old. Where did the time go?? They are starting to get more fussy at times. It's hard when they are both being fussy at the same time. Luckily Taylor likes her binky and is pretty good about keeping it in her mouth. And Emily likes the swing. So those are my two life savers right now. I got to sleep some last night. Surbjit took the night shift but I ended up taking over at 2:30am because he was getting frustrated with Emily. She wouldn't go back to sleep after he fed her at midnight. He tried feeding her, changing her, putting her in the swing, putting her in the rocker. Nothing. So I took over for the rest of the night. At least I got to sleep from 10pm so that's about what I normally get a night. Plus I got to sleep from 3-4 and then from 5-6 so I got a little more sleep than I normally do. Hopefully tonight is better

Sleep Deprivation = Rock Bottom

Well life is moving along here in the Singh household. I can't believe they are going to be a month old on Saturday! Where did the time go?? I hit rock bottom last weekend though. The girls were just non stop eating Friday night and I got no sleep and was exhausted. I took a 2 hour nap that morning Then I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and then Surbjit took the night shift and I got to sleep from basically 9pm till 7am. That was so nice!! It reenergized me and made me sane again. So now i've been doing ok. The girls have been decent at night all week. They get up about every 3 or 4 hours to eat so I get about a 2 hour sleep in. At night I've been propping them both in their rockers and feeding them at the same time so I get back to sleep sooner. That's the only way I'm going to get through the nights right now!

So other than that, not much else is going on. I did find daycare for the twins. It's at a different place than Connor goes but right now I just need daycare. The plus side is she's cheaper than Connor's and is in our neighborhood. It's just too bad she doesn't have room for Connor too. Oh well. Well, I best get going. I need to get some sleep.

Still Trucking Along

Not much happening here. We are trying to get them more on a schedule and trying to get them to sleep a little longer at night. If I can get them to sleep 5 hours at night, I'd be golden! Emily did sleep 5 hours last night. We fed the girls at 11 pm (Taylor then Emily) and Emily slept until 4 am!! Taylor woke up at 2am and then woke up again while I was feeding Emily so I fed her again. Then they slept until 7:30am. Now they are both up in their swings. They still sound congested but seem to be breathing ok. Hopefully it stays like this. Poor Emily has the hiccups and Tyalor decided to fall asleep! I think she is my lazy girl (just like Momma!). Well, I need to go wrap Christmas presents. I can't believe that Christmas is around the corner. I hope i get my calendars and Christmas cards in the mail today so I can mail them out. Ah, too much to do and so little time.

Updated Weights after Doc Appt.

Ok real quick, Emily is hungry and needs to be fed. Doc appt went fine. They have colds. Let's hope it doesn't progress any further.

Weights:

When we went for the two week check up 10 days ago they were:

Emily 4 lbs 10 ozs
Taylor 6 lbs 3 ozs

Today at exactly 3 weeks:
Emily 5 lbs 10 ozs
Taylor 6 lbs 13 ozs

Their First Colds. =(

Well, both the girls have a cold. Thanks to our very own germ factory (AKA Connor). Oh well. We are headed to the doctor this afternoon. I was hoping it wouldn't hit Taylor but no such luck. She started getting congested yesterday. They are both sleeping in their swings right now so I can keep them upright to help breathe better. I'm sure the doctor is just going to tell us to do what we've been doing but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I just hope they don't get worse. Emily seemed to be better yesterday but now she seems about the same. Hmmm. Oh well. There is nothing I can do except keep them comfortable. Taylor doesn't want to eat that much right now and I'm not sure if it's because she is sick or what. It just started happening over the past day so I think it's because she is sick. She'll eat maybe an ounce at each feeding if I'm lucky. She's still peeing and pooping though. I hope they both get over this cold ASAP and we can be sickness free for at least another month. Well, I need to get going and feed the girls soon!

First Day Just Us Girls!!!

Well, today is my first day alone with both girls. It shouldn't be a problem. Poor little Emily caught her brother's cold. She's doing better today, not as congested but poor little thing. I feel so bad. We all (the girls and I) slept in the living room with Emily in the swing so I could keep her upright to help her breathe better. They both did great sleeping except to wake up every three hours to eat. So I can't complain. I'm a little tired but I can take a nap later. I'm debating on taking a shower. On one hand I feel like being lazy but on the other hand, it'll wake me up and make me feel better. Decisions, decisions.

I had my doc appt yesterday for him to check my incision. He said the pathology report came back from the placenta saying it was di/di so we still don't know if they are identical or not. I need to look into a dna test. Surbjit still swears they are not. Although it was di/di, there was still communication between the two which means they are most likely identical. One of the scary things he told me though is that Emily's cord was actually through her membrane and then into the placenta. So, had her sac ruptured, it would have tore the cord from the placenta and she would have died. I can't even begin to imagine if that had happened. With everything against her, the TTTS and the cord, it's a miracle she is with us. She is my little miracle baby. Well, I better go. If I'm going to take a shower I need to do it now!!!!

A Little Harder than I Thought

So everything is going good here. For the most part. All I seem to do lately is cry though. I know part of it is I miss my Mom. She left on Friday and went home. It was so nice to have her here. I didn't necessarily use her to her full potential but just knowing we had three bodies (one for each kid) if we needed it was nice. Now it's just Surbjit and I and the nights seem the worse. Connor is a great big brother (i'll go into that later) but he is two and you know how well two year olds listen sometimes. So it gets hard when I'm feeding one and have my hands full and Connor is getting into something. It's not like I can jump up and get him out of it. UGH!. I know it'll get better though.

But Connor is being a great big brother. If one of the girls are crying he'll go over to the bassinet and rub their tummy and say "It's OK". He wants to hold them all the time. Of course, he says "want hold it". We keep correcting him to say her although it still hasn't happened yet. He will also throw away the diapers for us and he has just recently started to help holding the bottles.

I did breastfeed for two weeks. But with no one being here to help me starting Tuesday, I just felt like it would be easier to bottle feed. It was taking me forever to feed them. I would breastfeed Taylor for an hour and then Emily and then I'd have an hour to do whatever and then it would start back up again. With the formula, it only takes them about 30 minutes each to eat so that gives me about 2 - 3 hours after to rest, do chores, etc. It upsets me I didn't last 6 weeks like I had wanted to but I think my sanity is worth it.

The Twins Arrival!!!

Hi everyone!! I'm happy and excited to announce that my beautiful angels are finally here. It kinda seems surreal that I have two babies! The c-section went without a hitch and we are 95% positive that they are identical girls based on the placenta when they examined it. My OB sent it in for a pathology report so we'll know for sure in a week or two. Anyway, here are the details:

November 15, 2007
Taylor Ann 8:43 am 6 lbs 7 ozs 18.5 inches

Emily Kathryn 8:44am 4 lbs 13 ozs 17 inches

Although Emily was much smaller, she was doing just as well if not better than her sister. Neither went to the NICU and we were all able to go home Saturday night!! It was nice. The nurses for the most part were awesome! The ones we had when we went home sent us home with TONS of diapers, wipes, formula, pacifiers, you name it!!! Although I am mostly breastfeeding (and actually really loving it), we are still supplementing with formula mostly at night (so I can get some sleep!). I am definitely in love.

Poopy in the Potty!!!!!

Ok, I can't belive it's been over two months. YIKES! I'm so bad. This can't happen. I need to update more. But I had to get on here and talk about the great news!!! Connor went peepee and poopoo in the potty tonight!!! WOO HOO!!!! We were so proud of him. We were shocked he actually went. We've been having him just sit on it but today he wanted his pants and diaper off and he actually went!! So we let him flush it down the toilet which he liked to watch. I know we are still aways away from being potty trained but this is the beginning. And with the twins coming, having him out of diapers would be so cool!!!

On the twin front, I've been on bedrest since the last week in August. They are kinda far apart in weight so we think one twin is taking more nutrients than the other one. If this is the case, it also means they are identical. We'll hopefully get to find that out when they are born. As of my last u/s on Friday, Baby A is 5 lbs 10 ozs and baby B is 4 lbs 1 oz so we will see. I most likely will not get another u/s. I've been going to the hospital for twice weekly NSTs. The girls have been active and cooperative. I've had contractions though so twice I've had to have a shot of terb to stop the contractions. I think it's just when I do too much. Bad me. But we also now have the c-section date set. These girls will be born November 15, 2007 (unless they stop cooperating at the NSTs or my water breaks). So I'll have a family with all birthday's in November except me. It will definitely be one busy month!!!!

Connor and Mommy Weekend

We had a good weekend without Daddy. Friday night I picked him up from daycare and we ate dinner at Burger King and then went shopping at Kohl's (my favorite place!). I got Connor some new PJs. He prefers to sleep in shorts so I need to get some more and of course we bought some clothes for his two sisters. Connor even helped me pick out some outfits. =) He did pretty well overall at the store. I was very impressed.

Saturday we played at home the whole day. Stayed inside in the morning and then after his 3 1/2 hour nap we went and played outside with the pool and hose. Of course he liked the hose more than the pool. We had grapes and goldfish for a snack while he was playing. Connor loves grapes! Actually, he loves anything that is a fruit. I guess that is a good thing! =)

Sunday we went to Irvine park and met my working Mom's group there for lunch. It was nice. Connor is the only boy though which is weird since everyone we camp with has boys. He had fun though climbing on the tables, eating the fruit. He never tried to run off really so it wasn't that bad for me thankfully! It was the first time I've been to Irvine park. I never realized it was there and it's huge! Not really any playground equipment more trees and grassy areas. But it's a nice park.

Of course last night Connor didn't want to sleep. Cried again. Finally went to bed at 8:30pm. Then woke up crying at 5:30am. Not sure what's going on with him. Bad dream? Growing spurt?

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend this past weekend. Connor and I met Melanie and Dylan at the Aquarium of the Pacific on Friday. Connor did OK but it was hard to handle him by myself since I also had the stroller and he wanted to walk half the time. Oh well. He did well for the most part. Except for of course wanting his way which he does so much now! He will learn one of these days that he can't have everything that he wants. As soon as I left the parking garage to go home he was sound asleep in his car seat. Surbjit took him out of the car when I got home and put him in his crib and he didn't even wake up. He sure was tired. Didn't help that he didn't go to bed until 10:30pm the night before. Not sure what was up with that but he did not want to go to bed.

Then on Saturday we had a surprise birthday party for Melissa to go to. Gina & Curtis live really close to where the house was so we hung out with them before and after the party. It was a pretty good day. I think Melissa was really surprised. Her sister came out from Kentucky for the party even so that was nice. There was a pool there for people to go in. It was hot though. After the party we went back to Gina and Curtis' and were there until about 9pm. All in all a good day.

So then on Sunday we went to the Orange County Fair. We got to walk around and see lots of different animanls and some exhibits. There was a "beach" even for the kids. It was basically two feet of sand deep by probably about 50 feet across complete with sand toys and everything for the kids to play with it. So we got to sit down for a little bit and Connor got to play in the sand. He enjoyed!! Enjoyed it so much he fell asleep again on the way home and ended up taking a 3 hour nap. So it was a busy weekend!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Well yesterday was the Fourth! We ended up having Bigi and Uncle Harjinder over as well as our friends Gina, Curtis and their son Braeden. Uncle Harjinder was kind enough to cook Bratwurst with onions and peppers. Good stuff!! Connor got to play in his pools. I did take pictures and will hopefully be able to share once I get them downloaded off the camera. Then at night we lit off some fireworks. Connor was one tired little boy! He only took an hour nap the whole day! And did not go to bed until 9pm after we were done with fireworks. But all in all it was a good day!

Sleep Over

Well Connor had his first sleep over this weekend. He went over to Uncle Harjinder's and Bigi's house and spent the night. We got to go see Oceans 13 (which we liked a lot). Connor did fine and enjoyed himself like we knew he would. I figured he might as well get used to being overnight there since when the twins come, he'll probably have to stay there while we are in the hospital.

Other than that, not much going on. We had a good Memorial weekend camping trip. The weather could have been better but it was ok. Then the weekend of June 8th we went to the Colorado river. Talk about HOT! It was in the high 90's there. Connor didn't care running all around but I was tired from running around after him! He got to go in the river and on a boat and they even had pools there that we took him into. He enjoyed himself. This weekend we are going camping again. Probably our last until the twins are born!

Connor says a few words now. Dog is always his favorite! He also says dada, mama, please, thank you, cheese. He knows where his eyes, ears, nose, and belly button are. Hmm, what else. His favorite thing to do lately is climb ontop of our ottoman and then jump onto the chair (most often when either myself or Surbjit is sitting in it). Of course he jumps ON Surbjit but he knows he's not allowed to jump on Mommy so lands on the chair next to me and then starts laughing. It's kinda funny. I'll try and get him on camcorder but most of the time when he sees the camera he starts running towards it and opening his mouth like we are the dentist! =) So that doesn't work well for getting action shots of him but he's getting better.

Anyway, that's an update for now. Hopefully I can add some pics here pretty soon!

An entire month!

What's up with that?!?! Bad bad me. Ok, well first of all, Connor. =) He is doing pretty well. He has been teething lately and his mouth has been bothering him but other than that, everything is going good. I just feel sorry for the poor guy. I can only imagine how his mouth must feel. In other news, at daycare he has taken a nap like a big boy with the rest of the kids. =) Momma is so proud. No more cages for him. Well maybe not all the time because that boy will not sit still but he is growing up. I have to say he LOVES water. It's probably a good thing we do not have a pool. I can imagine him at the edge of the pool dipping his hand or foot in and falling in. Not a good idea!!! But we do have a kiddie pool for this summer that we can splash and play in. I know he'll have fun. And we have a water table for him that he already loves to play with. That boy and water. =)

In other news - I guess I'm going to have to change the name of this blog. It will no longer be Connor's life but Connor and his two siblings lives! Yup you heard me right. I am pregnant with TWINS!!!! We are shocked but happy. I never pictured myself with three kids but I guess someone else has other plans for us. =) I am due December 4th although I doubt I will go that long. I guess time will tell. Well that's about it here in this household. Hopefully I'll be able to update sooner than a month! Sorry!!!!

Easter

Gosh it's been awhile. Things have been hectic here in the Singh household. Most of the family knows already but I'll wait to announce it here until after Friday. Until then, you'll just have to make due with Easter pics of Connor. =) On Saturday we went to our neighbor's house for the annual Easter Egg Hunt and party. They had easter eggs for the kids to get with prizes inside along with the Easter bunny there to take pictures. There was also a humungous spread of food for all to enjoy!!!

Here is Connor with the Easter bunny! He wasn't scared at all!

And here is Connor looking for Easter eggs at the Nering's annual Easter Egg hunt.

He doesn't quite get the whole idea of Easter yet but I'm sure he will next year. =) I did have an Easter basket for him and some eggs to find in the house on Easter morning. He found most of the eggs and took his basket apart. Then he went to the LA Convention Center with Dad, Bigi, Uncle Harji and Auntie Edith to celebrate Baisakhi. Baisakhi marks the year's first harvest and the day when a principal guru in Anandpur Sahib, India, codified the religion's spiritual and personal codes of conduct. All the Sikh's from the various temples around Southern CA get together at the convention center to celebrate and Connor got to go this year. I was told he was a very good boy and sat in Daddy's lap the whole time and did not act out at all. That made Mommy very proud. =) Then of course they all came home with Indian food for lunch. ;)

So Connor had a very busy weekend filled with lots of activities!
