Mobile blogging

Let's see if this works. This was taken when we were at Chuck E Cheese
last Sunday.

Last Day of Daycare

Today is a bittersweet day. (As I have tears forming in my eyes). I will not be dropping the kids off at two different daycares anymore. Today was the last day of that. Jackie and Pratima will definitely be missed!! I know they will miss the kids too. This morning was a lot of trying to hold back the tears (for the adults not the kids!) Although I have a feeling Taylor knew something was up because she was hesitant to go in yesterday and today. Jackie offered to babysit if we ever needed it. We may just have to take her up on that offer. I know she would love to see the girls again (as well as her whole family would like to see them again). And she is just 3 blocks from our house. =)

I guess Surbjit got two envelopes from Michaels' mommy yesterday when he picked up Connor. Not only did she get him the puzzle, but she also got 3 movie tickets to the movie theather by us, but also McD's gift certificates! My goodness. She so did not have to! I also got her number and e-mail (which I had given her mine too) so we will definitely be talking soon! They live in our same school district so keeping in touch is a good thing since I KNOW we will run into them again. =)  And Michael and the twins will be in the same grade I believe so who knows. Maybe they'll be in the same class one of these days.

Well, we have a busy weekend ahead of us. I will definitely share it all as time permits! I hope everyone reading this has a Happy Labor Day!!!

Connor's Gift

Tomorrow will be bittersweet. It'll be the last day the kids go to thier current daycare. I'm sad yet I know it marks a new beginning for them too. Today on the way to Pratima's, I told Connor, only two days left! He said he didn't want to go to his new preschool, he wanted to go to Tima's every day. Ah. I know he will miss her and he will be missed.

When we got to Tima's, the other mom that I am always running into in the morning gave Connor a gift! It was so nice and not necessary! We are always consistently dropping our boys off at the same time. And her son is the twins age but I know Connor loves playing with Michael. We are both in the same school district too so unless we move (highly doubtful!), we'll be running into each other again. Note to self: Write thank you note tonight to give to them tomorrow!

So tomorrow is the last day. They probably don't really "get" it. But they will on Tuesday. Stay tuned for that event! And this weekend is Aria's 1st birthday party. So much fun! I just hope it's not too hot!

Gifts for the Preschool Teachers

Well it's a good thing Jackie and Pratima don't read this or I couldn't share the gifts we are giving them. =) This is the last week that the kids will be going to them before they move on to preschool. It's bittersweet. I know they loved my kids and treated them like their own and they will truely be missed. We will defiintely visit and keep in touch as this is not good riddance,  just see-you later.

Anyway, here are the gifts:

They are both engraved with the following:
For Your Memories
Past, Present & Future
Love, (child's name)
I hope they like it. We truely are blessed that they were in our children's lives and helped to shape and mold them to what they are today. Now onto a new chapter in their lives!

Jumper

So we bought a jumper from a MOM in my multiples group. Looks brand new. I have definitely gotten my money's worth!!!

Especially this little girl. Taylor LOVES to jump and climb. Considering this was the girl that waited until 19 months to walk - it's a little bit shocking. ;)

Trying out my mobile blogging. If this works, I can update on the fly. =)

My Climber

That would be Emily. Sunday morning I go in to get them up (they've already been up, I can hear them!). What do my eyes behold as I walk in the door?? Emily straddling the cribs. She was right in between hers and Taylor's. She looks at me, finishes going into Taylor's crib and the two proceed to start jumping up and down. And Laughing! So turn around, go in their closet, get their clothes out for the day, turn back around, and Emily is back in her crib. My climber. :sigh:

Way Back When-esday: Camping

I decided to play way back when-esday this week. I keep seeing Momlissa doing it so I decided to do it this week. =) This was from our August 2006 camping trip to the beach. This is Connor - age almost 9 months. Wow, we could actually put him in the SuperYard and not worry about him. We hardly ever did this with the twins!!

Girls Day!

So the twins daycare was closed yesterday. Ah, this will be the last time that one or the other is home since they will all be at the same daycare starting September 8th. Bittersweet. Well that is until Connor starts kindergarten and then I'm gonna be in a whole heck of trouble. But anyway, I digress. So it was just me and the girls. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to get out of the house. AND I needed a birthday present for a party on Saturday so the mall here we come! I decided NOT to go to the one near my house as they do not have a food court (yeah, sometimes I wonder how this mall even stays in business!). So we went to the Brea Mall and went to Bath and Body Works. I mean what woman wouldn't LOVE to have some of that! So I bought her gift (ok and something for me too!) and then I headed to Sears to check out the children's clothes. Why oh why haven't I shopped there?!? I've gone in the past and just not been impressed but their clearance was an additional 50% off. I LOVE THAT! Didn't find twos of some things I wanted so I ended up only getting 4 shirts but they were $2 each! Gotta love it. I need to check out the Sears by my house now. ;)

We then went to the food court and ate lunch at Carl's Jr.

That was taken with my phone. I guess it doesn't take that bad of pictures after all!

This was really the first time I've taken both girls out in public by myself. They were not bad. Taylor does not like being in enclosed spaces that's for sure. Freaked out in the elevator (I would too, this elevator BARELY fit the double stroller!!!) and in the bathroom when I had to go. Oh well. Other than that, they did really well and we enjoyed our mom/daughter day. =)

Ok, let's see if this works. If it does it's so much easier than what I was doing. Let me know!

The Weekend

We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Well, Mom and Dad were busy and the poor kids had to stay home all weekend. I had a bridal shower to go to on Saturday so Surbjit was at home with the kids basically all day. And of course, they didn't want to nap. Emily was crabby. She is teething so that's fun! And Connor is slowly getting away from naps. He needs them and he doesn't. It probably helps him go to bed at night when he doesn't get a nap. LOL. But I'm not ready to not have me time in the afternoon! Maybe I'll start allowing him to play quietly in his bedroom during nap time. That will give me the break and him play time. It will also teach him to play by himself too. Hmm.

Sunday Surbjit and I went on our annual Booze Cruise with my coworkers. Fun as usual. (We go out of Huntington Harbor on a boat owned by a coworker who retired and drive it to Acapulco by Marina Pacifica and eat brunch there). Ah, we were a little worried as Bigi was going to have the kids basically all day and they weren't too good for Surbjit. Thankfully, the girls napped 2 1/2 hours and were playing great outside by the time we got home. We even left after the girls went to bed and went to Downtown Disney to Jamba Juice (I've had two gift cards forever to use) and walked around a little while Bigi put Connor to bed. So nice!!

I have to say it's so fun to watch the three of them play together. Yesterday, Connor got on one of those push toys we have and started asking me to push him. He then saw Emily and rethought it and asked Emily to push him. WHICH SHE DID!! So nice. It's finally getting to the point where I'll just have to be a referee and I can participate when I want. =D YEAH!!!

Weekend Camping

So we went camping at San Mateo State Beach this past weekend. I'd share pics but um, yeah I left the camera in the motorhome. Woops! Will have to run by it in storage soon so I can get those pics! The kids had a wonderful time. We had a decent campsite too. Unfortunately, this campground is 1.5 miles from the Beach. But since we told the kids we were going to the Beach, we made the trek to the Beach. Just wait until you see the wagon, loaded with kids, chairs and ice chest. This "trek" was more like a hike. There were two BIG hills. And hauling this probably close to 200 lb wagon was not fun. At least I didn't have to do it. Thanks Babe! =) So we were able to spend about 2 hours at the Beach. It took us almost 40 mins to hike to the Beach. On the way back we took the road 1/2 way and then got a lift from our friends who had a car.

We had a good time. This campground would not be my ultimate favorite to go to. There really isn't much to do. The Beach is far away. There is no playground. I mean you can hang at camp but the sites aren't all that big either and I know it's summer but all the sites were really brown, as in dirt. And lots of it. We had water and electric hook-ups which were nice. But with CA raising its prices on camping, this campground will now be $60 a night. Definitely not worth it in my opinion.

Pics will come soon! I promise!

New Preschool

So I took yesterday off of work to take Connor to his new preschool. =) He did enjoy himself although he is going to have to get over not doing what the other kids are doing. ugh. Yesterday was bring your rock to school day (and being the good mom I am I remembered so he had a rock!). But of course, another girl brought a bigger rock so he wanted that rock. Or he wanted someone else's rock. And he threw a fit. Then he didn't want to put the paint shirt on to paint. ugh. Then he didn't want to sit at the same table as everyone. But we finally got him sitting down. He painted his rock and we brought it home.

Before that, we got to go outside and play. He kept asking me if he could play on this and play on that. ;) Very cute. His friend from his current preschool that use to go there is at his new preschool! Connor and Sarah were good friends at Ms. Tima's and she was so excited that Connor was coming to her school so that was nice for him. Of course, he only wanted to play with Sarah though. I tried to tell him that there are lots of kids to play with and the other girls wanted to play with him also. I'm sure he'll branch out once he starts feeling more comfortable.

So all in all, a good day. He asked me this morning to go to his new preschool. I had to tell him they are closed getting ready for the new students that are starting in September. We even circled the date on the calendar for when they start. I can't believe it's less than three weeks away!!

We Had a Visitor Last Night . . .

in our bed and her name was Emily. Surprisingly she went straight to bed when I brought her in. She woke up screaming. Well first, she woke up around 8:30pm crying. I took her out held her for a couple minutes and then put her back to bed. She protested but finally gave up after about 5 mins. Then around 11pm she woke up SCREAMING. So I went and grabbed her, gave her Tylenol and brought her into bed. She cuddled up next to Daddy and fell asleep. And slept all night that way. Nice change for me as Connor usually pushes into me so I hardly have any room and therefore sleep horribly. I barely noticed Emily was in bed. =) She has a cold (surprise surprise) and i believe she is teething. I can feel her top two canine teeth and most likely her bottom two canine are coming in too. Poor thing. Hopefully tonight will be better!

Easter Bunny

Yes. I'm late. Not entirely my fault. =) Our neighbors do this yearly Easter Egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny. Well, I just got the pictures she took last week. So see, not my fault! They actually didn't turn out too bad. I just remember Emily not cooperating AT ALL that day! But if you look at the pictures, you can't even tell! Enjoy!

Tanaka Farms Pictures

Watermelon Tour at Tanaka Farms

OC Fair Pics

At the OC Fair

VERY Busy Weekend

Well let's see. It started on Friday actually. The twins daycare was closed so I had them all day. I decided to take them to their new daycare to visit, meet the teachers and kids and play a little. We were there for 2 hours!! They warmed up, had fun and even hugged their teachers good-bye. =) Yeah!

Saturday, we went to Tanaka Farms and did the watermelon tour with one of my mommy groups. It was fun. I don't know that I would do it again but I'm sure next year would be even easier with the twins actually listening better. Although they did VERY good. Except for Taylor freaking out when we first got on the tractor ride. But she calmed down and was good. By the time that was over and we ate lunch we decided just to head up to my friend Melanie's for her housewarming party. So the kids napped in the car on the way there and we stayed at her house until about 7pm. Got home after 8pm and basically went to sleep. We were all tired!

Sunday, I ran a 5k through the OC fairgrounds which garnered me free entrance so we all decided to go. So Surbjit, the kids, Bigi, Uncle Harjinder, Aunt Edith and Aria met me there when the fair opened. We ended up staying until almost 3pm! Emily decided there was too much to look at and never napped but Taylor did. And they all got to ride on the train ride with me. And pet animals too. So it was a fun, busy weekend!!!

So what's been going on???

Not much. I'm in the middle of daycare paperwork. Fun. NOT! I filled out most of the paperwork for Connor, now I have to work on Taylor and Emily. Plan was to do one a night and be done in three nights but I went running the last two night and forgot about it. Tonight is a rest day so maybe I can get another one done tonight. :sigh: I HATE paperwork.

Things are going OK. We are "trying" to get the girl dependence on their binkies reduced. I mean these girls love them their binkies. So far this week, doing good. I'm worried for the weekend when we won't let them have them during the day. This week, we didn't have them during the day and I'm SURE they had them at daycare. Taylor though has realized we are not letting her have them in the morning anymore and stopped going to look in her crib for them. She would actually reach through the slats and grab them or cry until I came to give it to her. I've started hiding them under the blankets at the far end so 1.) they can't see them and 2.) they can't reach them. So far it's working. After the first two days, she doesn't even go in there anymore to look for them.

Emily is starting to learn too. But that girl! Last night she got really worked up. All she wants is for me to hold her and walk her around. I can't even sit down and have her sit in my lap. NO - she wants me moving around with her. Uh uh. I am not her legs. She got SO worked up last night and Surbjit had a headache so he put her in her crib and closed the door. I was thinking great, now she is going to have her binkies so of course she'll calm down. She did calm down. I went there and asked if she was ready to get out. She nodded her head. Of course, she had a binkie in her mouth and FOUR binkie's in her hand (she LOVES to carry them. At night, she has to have one in each hand when going to sleep!). I said she had to leave her binkies in the crib. She shook her head no and started freaking out again. So I left the room. She calmed down. I went back in there. I said are you ready to get out now? She shook her head yes and dropped the binkies in her hand. I told her she had to get rid of the one in her mouth too (if I let her go out with that binkie then Taylor would start freaking out because she would want one too). She shook her head no and proceeded to start freaking out AGAIN. So I left the room. She calmed down. I went back in and asked if she was ready to get out. She shook her head yes and took the binkie out of her mouth and dropped it in the crib. Mom - 1 Emily - 0.

Book Review - The Talking Baby by Jeremy & Karina Sweet

I was very interested in reading this book in the hopes that I would learn something to help me get my twins to talk. The Talking Baby talks about ways to help your little one (and I mean little - they say to start early - before one) to talk sooner. One of the most frustrating periods for parents is that span of time when the child knows what they want, but can't communicate what it is. The parent is left guessing and trying to figure out what it is while their child is screaming at the top of their lungs. This book is here to help eliminate (or at least make shorter) that time period.

I did enjoy this book. There were lots of helpful hints and tricks to help your child start talking. Some of them were of course no brainers (repetition, repetition, repetition) but others were very helpful (word and phrases that are easiest for baby to say). Overall, I highly recommend this book to those with babies. It'll give you some fun and interesting ways to "play" with baby that will help to expand their vocabulary and hopefully, get them on the path to start talking early. I do not think this book is for those that have children over 1 or 1 1/2. By this time, the child is more older and set in their ways and may not be as open to some of the "tricks" and tips they spell out in the book. Don't get me wrong, you can still definitely use this book at any age. I think it's a great resource. I just think you'll get the MOST out of it, if you start using the tips before age 1.

Check out their web page at: http://www.thetalkingbaby.com. You can order the book directly from there!!

And They Are All Signed Up . . .

to start preschool/daycare!!! We finally found one we liked and bonus - the girls are going to go there too! So for the fleeting year we have, they will all be at the same place. LOL! We decided on Crescent Ave Christian Preschool. We were limited in that I need to drop the kids off around 6:30am. So anyone that opens 7am or later were out. But we were able to view 6 different preschools. Three that were Christian based and three that were not. Being as Surbjit and I are both different religions it was not really my intent to send them to a Christian school. However, it opens up so much more options for us if we looked at them. And in the end, their curriculum was one of the best. Their day is not entirely focused on christian learning but it's there in the background. And we do not have a problem with this. I guess this will just mean we'll have to bring them to Surbjit's place of worship and let them start learning about his religion too.

In any case, they all start on September 8th (day after labor day). I can't believe I have a year and then Connor will be starting Kindergarten! My gosh. It seems like yesterday that we just had him. He is certainly growing up. And the girls are definitely asserting their opinions! They still aren't talking much (especially Emily but it's because she refuses too that stubborn stubborn girl!). Taylor has started repeating most words that I say to her and is coming along a lot easier than her sister. I am worried about the change in daycares. It will be an adjustment for them. I'm not too worried about Connor. I think he'll enjoy the change. I know he likes going to Pratima's but he has outlasted the usefulness there and I think he knows it. He'll be around a group of kids all his age and able to make lots of new friends and have tons of fun. So wish us luck. I have lots of paperwork to fill out and I plan on bringing the kids by the preschool in August sometime so they can check it out and visit and meet their teachers. I hope it goes smoothly!

Weekend Events

Didn't do much this weekend. We went to the Buena Park Farmer's Market at the mall on Saturday morning. It was going to be a hot day so we got there early. Bigi, Uncle Harjinder and Aria joined us. Connor was a little pill in the beginning (gotta love the terrible threes) but we got some good fruits and veggies and the twins and Connor got to go in the Petting Zoo. Ok, it wasn't much of a petting zoo. Just some goats, 2 pigs and a bunch of bunnies. But hey, it entertained the kids. They even have a pony ride but Connor wouldn't ride. I don't know why. He rode the horse when we went to the Petting Zoo in San Juan a couple months ago. So we were there for a little over an hour. Then we went back home and played, napped (or attempted to nap). Then we played and the kids went to bed while Surbjit and I went out.

Sunday, Surbjit wasn't feeling good so he stayed in bed all day. The kids and I and Bigi played in the house all morning. It was gonna be another hot day and I didn't want the kids (or should I say Taylor) to overheat. Plus Emily is just getting over an ear infection. The kids all napped (thankfully unlike Saturday) and I got to run to the grocery store. Got back and continued to play until dinner time inside the house. Everyone went to bed. So it was a long stuck inside the house kind of weekend.

Surbjit went to the Doctor today and apparently he has the flu. Let's hope it doesn't go through the house. He's been pretty good about staying away from the kids so that helps. Bigi has been coming over at night to help while I take Connor to his swim lessons. We were going camping this weekend but have cancelled since Surbjit will still not be 100%. We may go visit our friends for the day but we won't have to load the motorhome and everything so it'll be easier. We'll see. It seems this is the year of cancelled camping trips. Hopefully next year with Surbjit having vacation time and the kids being older, we won't have to cancel and can plan better than we have this year. I know it'll get easier as the kids get older.

Connor

Well, I haven't really dedicated a whole post to just Connor in awhile so let me do that now. =) We started swim lessons on Monday. After BEGGING and BEGGING to go when his sisters were going last week, we get there and all he does is scream and cry because he is scared. So Monday, not so good. Said he didn't even want to go back again. I said fine, I'll take Emily. He said OK. WHAT?!?! Uh uh, no he is NOT quitting. So I got home from work yesterday and he waiting at the front door in his swim suit raring to go to the pool. Cool! Surbjit had already made dinner so I quickly ate (It was delicious and awesome since I didn't have to cook! I could get use to that!) and then we headed out the door. At first he was a little sketchy. But we got in and he was fine! We used the kick board and he kicked all over the place. We sang a couple songs and got use to the water. He went down the steps (he LOVES to play on the steps but I try not to let him stay there since technically people are trying to get in and out there and it's not safe and he can get in the way). He also started talking to the lifeguard in charge of the class too. Sweet! We were kicking around around and he's yelling." Girl, girl". I look up and I say "if you want to talk to her call her by her name Jenna." So he says"Jenna look at me! I'm kicking FAST!".

So yesterday was a good swim day! He even sort of floated on his back. He didn't want to put his head back but I saw most of the kids in the class don't do that. It's probably their age. So after swim he ran some errands with me. We went to Target. I was pulling a shopping cart out and two ended up coming together. I wanted the second one because the first had trash in it. I was getting ready to wheel the second one towards the store and Connor says," Mommy, we have to put this one with its friends." And he's pushing the first cart towards the others that are sitting at the front of the store. Another lady was getting a cart and she started laughing. =) He is just too funny.

So we ran errands. He is my little helper and not much of a pain or a I want that type of child. He got two t-shirts while we were there but they were $2 each on sale. =) Couldn't pass it up. Hopefully tonight at swim is just as fun! He really wants to go down the slide but I think we have to wait until Friday.

Fourth of July

We went to our friends Jeff and Romy's house for the the 4th of July. Their daughter and grandson are the same age as Connor so we knew he would have fun playing all day long! We took the motorhome and camped outside their house since the twins would definitely need a nap and probably go to bed before the fireworks (which they did). So it all worked out great. We rented a jumper for the kids and they had a little baby pool set up so the kids ran back and forth between the baby pool and jumper all day long. The twins played with all Katrina's toys and had fun but were very tired and ended up going to bed before 7pm. We couldn't start fireworks until after 8pm because it was still light out. But Connor had lots of fun. I do have pictures to share. I just need to download them from the camera.

The girls must be either teething or growing. Emily has been crying out at night and last week two night woke up and we had to go in there and comfort. Friday night was horrible! I ended up sleeping on their floor, sleeping with Connor, back to sleeping on the twins floor with Taylor than to waking up. Ugh. Needless to say it was a good thing it was not a work day. I'm hoping they grow out of this phase.

We are in the middle of preschool shopping. We narrowed it down to two yesterday and I called the licensing agency this morning and I think based on that call we have made a decision. We are going to discuss more tonight. With the twins in one daycare and Connor in another it would get GREAT to get them all at one place. Not to mention more convenient but I do understand also it's only for one more year and then Connor starts Kindergarten! GASP!! I can't believe my baby is growing up.

Book Review - Too Too Many Tutus

I read Too Too Many Tutus by Suzanne Davis Marion. This was a VERY cute book. I read it to my 20 month old twins and even to my 3 1/2 year old son. They all enjoyed it and the twins even sat through it the third time I attempted to read to them (both times before they just wanted to flip through the book!). I highly suggest this book if you have a daughter that loves ballet. She will thoroughly enjoy reading this book. Even for those that don't, it basically goes through each color of tutu this little girl has. Very good tool to teach colors and reinforce what the different colors look like while getting an entertaining story about a little girl who can't choose which tutu to wear because she has "too too many tutus". =)

Weekend Events

It was a hot one in Southern CA this weekend. I'd like to start posting about our weekends and all we do so I can remember. Our weekends are usually chock full of LOTS of activities. This past weekend we were invited to THREE birthday parties - only made it to one though. Let's see, Saturday woke up and got everyone ready. We had to go drop off Surbjit's truck at the dealership so he could get his new tires put on. So we dropped off the truck and then headed to the park in Cerritos. The kids got to play in the sand and on the playground. Then we took them for a walk around the lake, although we didn't quite make it. Taylor wanted to walk near the lake and we didn't want her to be that close so we had a difference in opinion and she screamed. Oh well. We went back home - it was getting HOT and I of course didn't think to bring hats for anyone since recently the sun hadn't been peeking out of the clouds until after 10 or 11am. So we headed home. I haven't been grocery shopping in awhile so we had no bread for sandwiches so Connor and I ran to the store for some bread and milk. Bread, Milk, Strawberries, etc later we made it home, made lunch and put the kids down for a nap.

Since Bigi was there, Surbjit and I left to go pick up his truck. The kids napped for a long time. Well, the girls did (until 3:30). Connor decided to boycott. Oh well. So after the girls woke up we went outside and played some more. Boy do those kids LOVE to be outside. =)

Sunday, we woke up and played outside in the morning while Surbjit cleaned out his garage. I was able to have him pull out the old toys Connor use to play with (the drop and roar dinosaur, the box, and the laugh and learn activity chair). Boy were those HITS! Especially the chair. I may need to find another one or two!! After we had lunch, the kids went down for a nap and after naps we went over to TJ's and Debbie's to celebrate Mona's birthday. The kids had a blast running around the house and playing outside in the baby pool. Ended up getting home around 7pm. So it was a fun filled playing lots outside weekend!!!

Swim Lessons - Part 3

So the plan to take Emily again backfired. She has a cold. Poor thing. Running nose, sneezing like crazy, eyes watering. Yikes! Poor girl. So I took Taylor again. She did REALLY REALLY good on Wednesday. Didn't cry at all. Seemed to be liking it. Can't say the same for Thursday but still wasn't as bad as Monday. Today they get to "jump" off the diving board. Not sure I'll have her do that.

In other news, my big boy is a BIG boy. He got dressed all by himself this morning. Hmm. Now if I could get the girls, I'd have more time in the morning LOL! I thought I'd have to go back in his room and find him sleeping but no, he came running down the hall fully clothed while I was getting Emily ready this morning. So proud of him!!!!

Swim Lessons - Take 2

So I took Emily last night. Well . . . she didn't scream like Taylor did but let's just say she was holding onto me so tight I didn't have to hold onto her. LOL. She started to loosen up towards the end though. She did say (shake head) that she wanted to go back with me. The poor thing was freezing though when we got out. I kept trying to get her to kick her legs and move around so she would warm up. Maybe tonight. I'm going to bring her back again tonight and then take Taylor on Thursday again. I have to sign Connor up on Saturday for the next session. He really really really wants to go. We even circled the date on the calendar when he gets to go because he doesn't quite get the, you go next session, speech. This does make for a long day for me but it's worth it. I basically get home at 5:30pm. Change, change whoever is going with me and have to be at the pool at 5:55pm for the swim lesson. We get home a little after 6:30pm when we are done. Thankfully the pool is only 10 mins away (and that's if I hit all the red lights). But it is nice to have one on one time with them.

Swim Lessons

So yesterday was the first day of swim lessons. I almost forgot. What with our trip to San Luis Obispo (which hopefully I'll get to talk over soon) and having yesterday off, I almost forgot! We signed up Taylor first thinking since Emily SCREAMS when she gets in the bathtub and Taylor likes to play, she would like it better. Um yeah. Not so much. Taylor yelled the entire time. We ended up getting out of the pool like 10 mins early. I'm taking Emily tonight. If Emily reacts the same way, Connor gets to go the rest of the time. He actually threw a fit yesterday because he wanted to go to the pool with me. I think Taylor and Emily are just too little and with no interaction with pools/water (except for baths) they are just not ready this year. Next year. I'll let you know how tonight goes.

Ocotillo Wells March 2009 Pictures

I don't ever remember sharing pictures from our back to back camping trips in March. I know I did share some of San Mateo but I don't think I shared any from our last riding trip of the season. Looking at these pictures, I can't wait to go again next year. This was actually the last camping trip we went on when Taylor wasn't walking yet. You'd never know now that she just started walking about 2 months ago!! Enjoy the pics!!

I Can Do Their Hair . . .

well sort of. Taylor I've been able to do the ponytail on top of the head since she has LONG hair on top. So long i should almost cut the bangs since they are in her eyes. But really, I can't cut her nails without her freaking out do you think I want to get her hair cut? I think NOT. Well Emily still has hardly any hair on top. It is growing, don't get me wrong but it still not long. But the back and sides are getting long now. So the other day I said, let's try and do pigtails and wouldn't you know it - it worked! Sort of. They fell out easily but they stayed long enough. And this morning, I actually had time and had their hair done when we went to daycare. Jackie loved it. =) They are so totally cute with the pony tails. I'll have to try the pigtails on Taylor but she doesn't sit still as long as Emily does for me so it may prove difficult.

Wednesday, I was home with the kids. The twins daycare was closed so I had a playdate with my fellow MOM (mother of multiples). Her daughter is 7 months younger than Connor and her twin girls are 3 days older than Taylor and Emily. So we had 2 three year olds running around and 4 one year olds running around. It was actually fun. They stayed for about 1 1/2 hours and then my kids napped AWESOME. So nice. Even Connor who didn't want to nap at first passed out on his bed. =D

Next weekend we are headed to San Luis Obispo for my cousin's wedding. Wish me luck. We've never stayed anywhere without the motorhome and we are staying in a hotel. Yikes. Means I have to pack everything and the kitchen sink. LOL! Usually it all comes with us =). Most of the family will be - my mom and dad. Grandma and her "friend" Ace. My Aunt and Uncle (the parents of the cousin) and their 5 other kids. Should be lots of fun - i hope.

Out

Apparently at daycare the other day, Grant (the son of the lady who runs the daycare) kept telling the kids to get out of his room. His room is right by the kitchen/front door. Well I guess he said it so much that Taylor started saying it. =) So now she says out.

The girls really don't talk a whole lot of words. They talk. Boy do they talk. I just wished they TALKED. They say momma, dadda, uh oh. That's about it. Well now Taylor say out. Taylor also says bye. They both understand EVERYTHING. And that's almost more scary. When I tell them to do something, they do it - unless they choose to ignore me which happens occasionally. ;) Last night they were lying down with me and I could tell they were tired. I asked them if they were ready to go to bed. Taylor starts nodding her head yes slowly. Emily will usually shake her head no but she didn't. So I said, if you are ready for bed go tell Daddy good night. Taylor proceeded to start waving bye bye and Emily got up from my lap and walked over to Surbjit and gave him a hug. So they were ready for bed. Of course, then they get in their cribs and "play" for about 30 mins to an hour. Oh well. At least it's quiet time for me. =)

Memorial Day Pics

Woah!

You mean I went through the entire month of May and didn't add a single entry??? No wonder my Mom was "yelling" at me yesterday. I'm SO sorry!!!! Time sure does fly. I've been super busy at work and just not finding time to get on here. I won't let that happen again. =)

So what's been going on?? This may be a rambling of a post since so much has been going on. We went camping as usual for Memorial Day. Look for pictures shortly after I post this post. We decided not to go to the beach this year. It is just such a hassle to get online and fight with everyone trying to make May reservations for CA State parks at 8am on November 1st. Especially since it was a Saturday too. So instead, we stayed at the campground where we did our Halloween event. When I went there to get our sites, they had the two sites that were the closest to the playground and close to the pool too. It was PERFECT for our families. We opened our door and you could see the playground which worked out perfect because that's the only place Connor wanted to be. And it was close enough that he could go there and we could still see him without having to be right there! They also had the pool (which Connor wasn't a big fan of) and a spray pool (basically sprinklers). It was beautiful weather all weekend long and full hook ups! And it took us only 20 mins to get home. Definitely a place we'll camp at again.

Other than that, we've just been busy. Surbjit has been working overtime on Saturdays. We are not sure if he will have a job come the next fiscal year as the City is really being hurt with this economy and they are talking lay offs. We probably won't find out until closer to the end of the month. What will happen will happen. We'll be fine, it would just be nice to find out!!!!

Connor took a parent and me multi sport class over the last month. He really enjoyed the soccer and tball (he hits left handed but throws right. Go figure). He did not like basketball. Well at least not with a REAL basketball. We have a MUCH softer ball at home and when i finally got him to "practice" he really enjoyed himself. I don't think I would enroll him again. But it did teach ME how to teach the kids to play. =) So that should work. I think Emily would LOVE it. Taylor is going to be like me and not into sports and stuff.

Yesterday Surbjit increased the speed on Connor's Arctic Cat. Now he LOVES driving it around and around and giving his sisters rides! And they like riding it. Well Emily more than Taylor. But i guess that's ok since Connor prefers to give Emily rides and not Taylor. Go figure.

Oh yeah and Emily may be potty trained before she is two. She keeps asking to go to the bathroom and yesterday she even pee'd after I took her diaper off. Twice. I guess I need to start investing in pull-ups. Do they make them that small???

Everyone is doing good. Both girls had ear infections so we are finishing up the meds on that. And we've all had horrible colds over the last month. I really hope this cold thing is OVER now. I swear I was sick like 4 times in 7 weeks! Yuck. Other than that, we are all doing good. I will be much more happier when the girls can talk because they are very opinionated and stubborn but can't tell me what they want. :sigh: I'm pretty good at guessing but they can be pills!!!!

Well, I promise not to take as long to post next time. A month is WAY too long. But working full time and being a full time mommy is twice the work!!! =D

Been Awhile

That's what happens when I am off for a week and then we get sick and then we get sick AGAIN and then I'm swamped at work because I was off and then I'm off AGAIN because we were sick. Ok, so let's back up!

Had the girls 15 month check up (yes they are almost 18 months - this is what happens when you call a month before and they are booked for three months). ANYWAY,

Emily - 21 lbs 14 ozs 31 inches long
Taylor - 22 lbs 1 oz 31.25 inches long

So Taylor has retaken the top spot. :) You'll remember Emily took that from her at their 12 month check up. Taylor is now WALKING!!! YEAH!!! She no longer crawls. Although Emily is now crawling. Well ok, she is only joking but it was kinda funny. She was walking on her knees and would fall down and then start crawling. It is so cute to watch them walk and run all over the place now. I do not have to worry about Taylor ruining pants anymore! Yeah!!!!

We were home the week before Easter. The girls daycare was closed. I basically kept Connor home too except for Tuesday (the day of the girls doc appt) and then Friday when they did his Easter party. We basically did nothing except stay in the house since I was sick.

For Easter we did our usual. On Saturday we went to our neighbor's Easter eggstravaganza. The kids took their picture with the Easter bunny. Or should I say Connor and Taylor took their pictures with the Easter Bunny. Emily wanted NOTHING to do with him. Go figure. I would think it would be the other way around. But Taylor sat on his lap like no problem whatsoever! The girls had fun opening the Easter eggs on the ground before the egg hunt started. So I kept having to close them and putting them back down. Frustrating and annoying for me. But then we did the egg hunt and they had fun putting them in their Easter baskets.

Sunday, we had the family over for Easter Brunch again like last year. Bigi had stayed the weekend with us so Surbjit and I could go out (I figured after being home with the kids all week I'd want some adult interaction) and Uncle Harjinder, Aunt Edith and Aria came over. We picked up Easter eggs and got to play in the backyard. It was a beautiful day!

Then it was back to the grind and all was ok. Then the following weekend Taylor came down with a fever. Ended up taking her to Urgent Care where they diagnosed an ear infection and I stayed home with her on Monday. That weekend was also the start of Connor's Parent n Me Multi Sport Class. We did soccer that day. He really enjoyed kicking the ball! This past weekend was the second class and he did tball. He said he liked soccer better but he did really good at hitting the ball with the bat. He was doing it left handed though which is weird since he kicks the soccer ball with his right and when he throws, he throws equally with both right or left so not sure if he's a lefty or righty yet. Next week is basketball!

This past weekend didn't do much. Just relaxed and slept since I was sick again last week. I'm hoping it's all over and done with at our house. We've had our fair share, that's for sure.

Sorry this post is all over the place. I guess that's what happens when you don't post for so long! I have pictures to share but they are on the camera. Hopefully I can get them downloaded soon!
