A Day Off & the Dentist
So I took today off since I had to go take Connor to the dentist. It was not pretty. He really did NOT like to sit in the seat, nor did he like her looking in his mouth or polishing his teeth. He would not sit for an x-ray either. I really don't want to take the girls but it looks like I will have to. The end result? He has FOUR cavities. Ugh. So now we have to have them fixed. Yes they are his baby teeth but from what I understand, you still need to take care of these and they are not small cavities either. They are medium size ones. So we have decided to have him sedated and have them all taken care of as well as have his x-rays done at the same time. Wish me luck. His appt is next Saturday. Thankfully they had a Saturday so I don't have to take a day off of work. Poor kid.
So after his appt, I dropped him off at school (Surbjit had already dropped the girls off earlier). Then Surbjit and I went to Knott's to get his season pass and picture taken. Then we decided to go in for a little bit. We rode Montezuma's Revenge twice and Jaguar once and then left since we were both hungry. Ate lunch and then went home for a little while. Since it was such a BEAUTIFUL day (low 80's) and we were both home we decided to pick up the kids early (everyone at school was SHOCKED!) and we took them to Knott's. =) They had lots of fun and so did we. It was a great time. Well for most of us. LOL. Taylor really didn't like a couple of the rides. Emily liked almost all of them. I think she will like them all as long as she can be with her brother. And Connor was just the absolute greatest big brother there could be! On one of the rides, he was riding with Taylor who started FREAKING out almost at the end. He put his arm around her and tried to comfort her. And when we were walking in the park, he would hold both their hands and even looked at Taylor once and said I would never leave you behind sweety!! It was by far the reason why I had three kids. Too sweet!!! Here are some pictures from today:

Santa Ana Zoo
Since today was going to be a BEAUTIFUL day. We decided to take the kids to the Santa Ana Zoo. It was perfect weather and lots to look at and do there. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Even though we lost an hour of sleep last night since we had to turn the clocks forward, you wouldn't know it from us. And we LOVE how it is light now as late as it is. Of course, Connor did say before he went to bed that he couldn't go to sleep because the sun was still up. LOL! I hope that doesn't continue because it's going to continue being light late until June 21st!
Here are some pictures from our trip today:

Connor liked the red birds (you can barely see them through the tree) and wanted me to take thier picture so I took his too.

Going For A Walk
Surbjit let me go to Kohl's if I got his truck washed so I left. He cleaned the house, fed the kids snack and lunch, AND took them for a walk. I got to shop and have some peace and quiet. Can't beat a morning like that!!!

Cute Picture
I never shared this picture. The last time the kids went to kids night out the girls fell asleep like this. They have never slept together since they were in the womb. How interesting.

Today was a LONG day
I'll update more later. Today was the kindergarten assessment at Dysinger the public school by our house. Let's just say they think he doesn't know his abc's. I know he knows his abc's. He knows he knows them. When I asked him why he didn't tell her, he said because he didn't want to. UGH!!! Now I wonder what he did at St. Pius'. Ugh.

Mommy/Connor Day Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the public school Kindergarten registration. Since we are trying to cover all our bases, I took tomorrow off and will take Connor and sign him up. You never know what may happen so we need to make sure we have all our contingencies in place right? So anyway, it's also Pancake Day at preschool. Big dilemna since Connor LOVES going to school in his PJs. So I asked him tonight if he would like to go to Pancake day or go to the donut shop with Mom. What did he choose? The donut shop. =) But we'll see what happens tomorrow when I drop off the girls and if he wants to stay or not. The real interesting part will be Emily. She has been whiney lately so I bet she will not be happy that Connor is leaving with me. We'll see. The good - I don't have to get them dressed since they get to go in PJs!!!

Grandma & Grandma D leave
Well today was Grandma and Grandma D's last day of their visit. The kids LOVED playing, reading and having them here. It was lots of chaos but lots of fun too. I wish the weather had been better. It rained Saturday but it was cold the rest of the weekend. And of course wouldn't you know it but it's supposed to be hot (in the 70's) next weekend. Ugh. Oh well. We had lots of fun!

Kindergarten
Tomorrow is Connor's assessment test at St. Pius. I hope he does good. I think he will. He is a smart boy but he sure does get pig headed sometimes! His assessment is at 9:40am. Surbjit and I are going to take him and my mom and Diana (since they are visiting! YEAH!) will watch the girls. Whew! That means they can read on end to them. Those girls sure do love to read. Anyway, then next Wednesday is the Kindergarten assessment at the public elementary school. Since we are trying to cover all bases (you never know!) we are signing up for that too. Should be a fun mommy/connor day. I figure since we have the Knott's passes, I'll take him there afterward. Should be a fun day. I just hope we don't have to wait forever to get the assessment etc done. It will be interesting to see how many people show up. At least at St. Pius we have a scheduled time so we don't have to stand there in line.
In other news, Taylor ONLY woke up once last night. Well ok, twice but the first time doesn't count since I was still awake in the living room. ;)

Taylor's Sleeping Habits
I don't think I've ever gone into detail on Taylor's sleeping habits - or lack thereof. Connor was an awesome sleeper. Or we could bring him into our bed on occasion when it warranted it. I feel guilty when I think about bringing one of the girls in the bed because I'm leaving the other one out so instead I make them deal with it and go back to bed. The other thing I was lucky with Connor about, was even after we switched him from a crib to a toddler bed, he would never get out of bed. Even in the morning when he would wake up, he'd ask for permission. Emily is the same way for the most part. Taylor - well - she has her own mind. She will get out of bed and get a toy, get a book, or run down the hallway in the pitch black of night and stand in our doorway. Well, now she will come into our room but she just stands there. Doesn't make a sound. Sometimes she will say Mommy. Sometimes she just waits for me to get out of bed and walk her back to bed. She has never wanted to sleep with us. We have had her come into bed after she has done this for the third time in about 30 minutes. But she has never asked to sleep with us. I guess that is a blessing. But basically the only thing she has wanted was for us to put her blanket back on her. Her blanket. She can dress herself but she can't put her own blanket back on her?!? Ugh. I'm trying to wean her of this but poor Emily was woken up last night by her crying and then SHE wanted her blanket put back on her. Now I KNOW Emily can put her blanket back on herself. So needless to say, they are NOT sleeping through the night and I really need a good nights sleep one of these days.
I do have to say though it is funny when I rethink about it the next morning because you just hear her little feet pounding down the hallway. I mean POUNDING. She is sprinting down the hallway. It's amazing actually. She must have some pretty darn good night vision!

Emily trying on clothes
We were driving home from school and Emily was going through her backpack. I was taking them home to change out the clothes because I was sure the clothes inside were too small since they've grown. She
proceeded to open the bag and put on the article of clothing and declared "it fits!".

My Little Helpers This Morning
We got to preschool this morning and the kids started fighting over the breakfast bag to carry into school. Since Emily and Connor were fighting in the car, I let Taylor start the week carrying the bag. Well Emily and Connor still wanted to carry something so Connor took all three lunch bags from me and Emily took Connor's homework. They even all put them away in school. I only had to sign the three kids in! Even when the girls sat down to eat their PopTarts - Connor went and got them water. One at a time, holding the cup with both hands. Too cute! And I asked if he wanted me to help and he said NO he could do it. Such a good big brother and helper for Mommy!

New Park in February
So today begins my 31 day challenge to myself. ;) Let's see if I can do it!
So my park challenge is still going and I'm still on track. ;)
So this weekend was a rainy weekend. Remember how I said my goal was to go to a new park once a month for this year with the kids? Well, since it was raining I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. But Sunday was BEAUTIFUL! As I was leaving church Sunday morning, I said to myself why don't we go to the park?! So when I got home I told Surbjit and he was in. We all ate lunch and then after lunch we drove to Arnold/Cypress Park in Cypress. We figured, they don't nap anyway so let's wear them out! (yes I guess that's a post for another day LOL!)
We got there around 12:30 and stayed until 2:30. The kids had fun swinging, sliding and climbing. Connor made a friend (but I was trying not to have him bug them either since they were there for what looked like a birthday party). We only had one fall (Emily fell down a little stair but was ok and no worse for wear).
Here are the two main playground structures in the park. Perfect when you have both bigger kids:
And Littler Kids
They also have PLENTY of swings. Both baby swings and big kid swings:
And the play structures had lots of stuff to climb and explore:
And the highlight for Connor and Emily (although Taylor did try it too) was the zip line:
There is also a restroom right next to the playground structure which is perfect when you have little kids who wait until the last minute to say they have to go potty. (Can you tell I'm talking about Connor?) =)
Of course we get not 2 blocks away from the park and both Emily and Taylor are asleep in their car seats. We drove around for awhile. Connor fell asleep too. When we got home, everyone went in their beds. Connor got out and wanted to wake up. Emily stayed in her bed playing. And Taylor went back to sleep and slept until 4:30. My sleeper.
So my park challenge is still going and I'm still on track. ;)

Soccer
We signed Connor up for Soccer. He is supposed to have 8 classes. Well the first week it rained out. The second week we went and were informed they would make up rain cancelled classes. Good because the third week, it was cancelled also due to rain. The fourth week we were camping so Connor didn't get to go. And then he went last week (which was the 5th week). Now it looks like we may be having class cancelled again tomorrow due to rain. A big storm is supposed to come in tonight (although it is 10pm and I hear no rain outside!) and the heaviest is supposed to be around 7 - 8 am tomorrow. Ugh. So another cancelled class. We are going to have too many cancelled classes we are going to run into the next session!
But Connor is having fun and doing pretty good. I signed him up for the 3 1/2 - 4 year old class instead of the 4-5 year old class since he didn't have any real soccer experience. I think the next time I'll sign him up for 4-5 class. He is doing pretty good and enjoying it, I think being with the older kids, he'll learn more and not be so distracted by the kids who aren't listening.
Anyway, here are some pictures of him playing. ENJOY!

And of course the girls were there too. Thankfully they practice right next to a playground so the twins get to play on the playground while Connor practices. They really like the swings last week. I think I pushed them for a good 15 mins!
