We were driving home from school and Emily was going through her backpack. I was taking them home to change out the clothes because I was sure the clothes inside were too small since they've grown. She
proceeded to open the bag and put on the article of clothing and declared "it fits!".

My Little Helpers This Morning

We got to preschool this morning and the kids started fighting over the breakfast bag to carry into school. Since Emily and Connor were fighting in the car, I let Taylor start the week carrying the bag. Well Emily and Connor still wanted to carry something so Connor took all three lunch bags from me and Emily took Connor's homework. They even all put them away in school. I only had to sign the three kids in! Even when the girls sat down to eat their PopTarts - Connor went and got them water. One at a time, holding the cup with both hands. Too cute! And I asked if he wanted me to help and he said NO he could do it. Such a good big brother and helper for Mommy!

New Park in February

So today begins my 31 day challenge to myself. ;) Let's see if I can do it!

So this weekend was a rainy weekend. Remember how I said my goal was to go to a new park once a month for this year with the kids? Well, since it was raining I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. But Sunday was BEAUTIFUL! As I was leaving church Sunday morning, I said to myself why don't we go to the park?! So when I got home I told Surbjit and he was in. We all ate lunch and then after lunch we drove to Arnold/Cypress Park in Cypress. We figured, they don't nap anyway so let's wear them out! (yes I guess that's a post for another day LOL!)

We got there around 12:30 and stayed until 2:30. The kids had fun swinging, sliding and climbing. Connor made a friend (but I was trying not to have him bug them either since they were there for what looked like a birthday party). We only had one fall (Emily fell down a little stair but was ok and no worse for wear).

There is also a restroom right next to the playground structure which is perfect when you have little kids who wait until the last minute to say they have to go potty. (Can you tell I'm talking about Connor?) =)

Of course we get not 2 blocks away from the park and both Emily and Taylor are asleep in their car seats. We drove around for awhile. Connor fell asleep too. When we got home, everyone went in their beds. Connor got out and wanted to wake up. Emily stayed in her bed playing. And Taylor went back to sleep and slept until 4:30. My sleeper.

So my park challenge is still going and I'm still on track. ;)

Soccer

We signed Connor up for Soccer. He is supposed to have 8 classes. Well the first week it rained out. The second week we went and were informed they would make up rain cancelled classes. Good because the third week, it was cancelled also due to rain. The fourth week we were camping so Connor didn't get to go. And then he went last week (which was the 5th week). Now it looks like we may be having class cancelled again tomorrow due to rain. A big storm is supposed to come in tonight (although it is 10pm and I hear no rain outside!) and the heaviest is supposed to be around 7 - 8 am tomorrow. Ugh. So another cancelled class. We are going to have too many cancelled classes we are going to run into the next session!

But Connor is having fun and doing pretty good. I signed him up for the 3 1/2 - 4 year old class instead of the 4-5 year old class since he didn't have any real soccer experience. I think the next time I'll sign him up for 4-5 class. He is doing pretty good and enjoying it, I think being with the older kids, he'll learn more and not be so distracted by the kids who aren't listening.

And of course the girls were there too. Thankfully they practice right next to a playground so the twins get to play on the playground while Connor practices. They really like the swings last week. I think I pushed them for a good 15 mins!

I was thinking . . .

Since March is coming upon us starting Monday and I haven't been very good at updating - I'm going to challenge myself to post something at least once a day in the month of March. Why not? It's not like I can't send something from my iphone. =) That was one of the reasons why i got the darn thing why not use it to its full potential? So hopefully you will get more updates. Something happens every day why not document it. Even if it is small.

Speaking of small - Connor received an award at school today. He got an award for making good choices! So proud of him. Hopefully this means he learned his lesson from yesterday. Cross your fingers!

Very bad!

I am being very bad this year on updating! I really have no excuse as to why. I just don't feel like getting on the computer at home when I've been on the computer at work all day. Everything is going fine. We are just in the midst of Kindergarten sign up hell and trying to figure out what we are going to do. Still struggling with the whole LATE November birthday child but I'm never going to get rid of that. And he is smart. I know he is. He also LOVES to learn so there is no question that he is ready academically. Socially/Maturity wise. Well, he has 6 months until he starts. Can he be mature enough by then? I believe so. Although he doesn't seem to be making wise choices lately (see previous post). We have a kindergarten assessment test at St. Pius next Saturday. I'm thinking that will help to see if they think he his ready for kindergarten. Should be interesting.

In other news, my mom and Diana are coming out to visit next weekend! Can't wait!!! The kids are excited too. Can't wait to see them. Should be lots of fun. It'll be a short visit but it'll be fun. Hopefully the weather cooperates so Diana can get some sun! She lives by Buffalo, NY. You know - lake affect snow and all that jazz. Plus they are getting hit by some pretty big storms lately. Everytime I check the weather it's like 25 degrees there so I guess even if it's cold here (50 degrees) it'll still be warm to her!

I really need to start updating more and better. I'll try!!!

Connor's First Note Home

Or Should I say Connor's first BAD note home. =( Not happy. I guess he wasn't being very good yesterday. Well actually, none of the kids were being good yesterday. It was a very hard day for Mrs. Teri. So she told all the kids to sit down and put their heads on the table. Well, my son decided to sit down at the table and when Mrs. Teri said to put his head down, he proceeded to put his fingers in his ears and shake his head no. Well by this point, she was done, so she told him to go to Mrs. Sevilla (the director of the preschool). So we need to work with Connor on making better choices. :sigh:

Kid's Night Out

Ever since we started at this preschool we had noticed they had Kid's Night out nights. It's basically 4 hours, you drop them off in their PJs and they get to have fun, socialize, eat a snack and watch a movie. And the parents get to have alone time. =) We were hesitant at first since the twins weren't even 2 yet and not use to being around these people. We finally decided to try it in December when the teachers offering it were both the twins teacher and Connor's teacher. They LOVED it. They have been asking to go back ever since. So two weeks ago they had it again and it just happened to be the twins teacher again. Again they loved it. When we got there both girls were asleep and Connor was watching the movie (it wasn't quite done yet). So they are having it again tonight. And of course I asked them, do you want to go to Kids Night Out? The answer was a resounding YES! So I guess Surbjit and I get a night to ourselves. =) Of course two weeks ago we wasted almost 2 hours waiting for a table at California Pizza Kitchen. Ugh! I don't think we'll do that again tonight! I hate waiting. The teachers tonight are Connor's teacher and another teacher that is new. Should be interesting since Taylor was reluctant to go the last time but when her teacher picked her up she was ok and we left. Well, her teacher isn't there tonight. We'll see!!

I still need to update on the camping trip last weekend. Beautiful weather and maybe I'll download the pics tonight since I'll be kid free! I'll try!

Connor Got an Award

Connor received an award at preschool this past Friday. I guess over the next two months they are going to be learning about manners. Good! Of course I do try and teach my kids manners as much as I can (although they all are having a hard time lately it seems!). So anyway, the first week (last week) was Please and Thank You. And Connor won the award for the week! His preschool teacher Miss Teri couldn't tell Surbjit enough how good he was on Friday and how well deserving that award was for him. That was one thing I keep trying to make them say. Even Emily and Taylor. I guess it really does work. =) I tried to get a picture of him with his award - it's a little silver trophy - but he wouldn't cooperate. Oh well. Maybe next week.

Where does the time go?

I know I am due for an update. I am so sorry! I've been busy at work actually working and updating this just gets pushed to the side. I'm also trying to organize pictures and videos at home and put them all on my external hard drive so that takes up my time at home. (what little free time I have LOL!) but that is no excuse. I really do need to get in here and update. =)

Not much going on. We have been busy trying to figure out what to do with Connor next year for Kindergarten. Our elementary schools are OK but I want him to be in an excellent school. He is very smart and I don't want him to be bored like I was. There is no doubt, even though he is a November birthday (and our school cut-off is December 2nd) that he will start Kindergarten next year. That's the bad thing about November birthdays - and I have THREE! They will either be the oldest or the youngest. Is that good? Is that bad? Both have pros and cons associated with it. Anyway, in the end. I believe we have decided to send him to St. Pius Catholic school. I think this is hilarious. Why? Because I wanted to go to Catholic high school so bad when I live in New York and my mom wouldn't let me. =) And also, because Surbjit is not Catholic. But funnier yet, his mom went to catholic school when she was growing up. Funny how things go around in circles. Our friend's daughter goes to school there. She is in 2nd grade right now and they love the school. It's right around the corner from our house and it is also the parish I belong to so it all works out. So Grandma (& Mom) - you'll be happy to know I'll be going to church every Sunday now. ;) I actually went last weekend. I think it's been 10 years since I went. Very surreal!

The kids are doing good and loving their preschool. They get to do so many things. They have a jumper every month and not only does Connor love jumping in it but so does Emily and shows me how she jumps in it. Too cute. Next week they are having an animal stuffing company come out and the kids can pick an animal and have it stuffed and pick out an outfit for it too! For only $20. I don't think that's bad at all. I've heard horror stories about how expensive Build A Bear is so this isn't bad at all. They even get to have Pancake day where they get to go to preschool in their PJs (which means Mommy gets a day off from dressing them in the morning!) and the teachers make them all pancakes. Yum! And they also have bike day once a month where each class gets to bring in their bikes for that day. I haven't brought the girls bikes yet (as they don't really ride them) but Connor's brought both his bike and his new scooter.

So that's just a little bit of what the kids get to do every month at preschool. We are finally going camping again next weekend. We haven't been since October which is definitely odd and strange for us. It's been a long time coming. Well, I HOPE to keep better updated! I promise!!!!

I've had my first . . .

child that was throwing up. And of course, it was Emily. Poor little thing. We had friends over Saturday night with their 4 year old daughter and 4 year old grandson (don't ask) so all the kids had a blast playing together. We BBQ'd Hamburgers and she brought a potato salad and these things called Smilies?? I had never seen them before but I guess they've bought them at Fresh & Easy before. The kids LOVED them. I think Emily liked them too much and ate way too many because they so did not agree with her. That  night at about 3:30am she woke up crying and Surbjit went in to put the blanket back on her and noticed she had thrown up. Changed her and brought her into bed with me where she threw up again. Cleaned up my bed and was taking her back in and she did it AGAIN (this time i had a bowl!). Put some towels down in my bed and you could here it coming again and she was crying No. No more. Broke my heart. When she was down she laid down and said all done. Then threw up ONE more time before going back to bed and sleeping in until 9am. Poor thing. But that was it. Nothing more and all she was throwing up were those smilies. Hmmm. She did eat a lot of them so either she ate too many or they just didn't agree with her because Connor and Taylor were fine and they ate them too. Weird.

Park - Fullerton Sports Complex

Every year I have goals. I don't really publish them here because most of them are weight loss related. But one of my goals this year in 2010 is to take the kids to a new park each month. For the month of January, I decided to take them to the Fullerton Sports Complex. Well actually, a Mom from one of my Mom groups was taking her children there and I figured why not. Of course, her daughter got sick that morning so it was just us at the park. Not a big deal.

This park is very nice. It's quite a hilly area. It basically has levels. The top level is the baseball fields, then you go down and there is the soccer fields, the bathrooms and the playground. What I LOVED about this playground is there was a shade covering over it!

The kids loved playing on this playground. I don't recommend for under 2. It's got lots of things to climb and some places you can not get to unless you climb so not infant/young child friendly. I was a little nervous with the twins but Emily did just fine (she is my climber) and Taylor wanted nothing to do with climbing wanted to swing instead.

Also, since this park is multi-level there were a bunch of stairs. Anytime my kids see stairs, they want to climb, so I obliged!

Overall, a very nice playground and we will definitely go back to play. And next time bring the bikes since it seemed every other kid there brought their bike! Oh yeah, and every other father was there too. It was weird since I was like the only mother with no husband (and the most kids!). Usually I don't see fathers at the playground so that was nice!!!

Stay tuned. Not sure where we are going in February but keep your eyes peeled. And we will probably be hitting up another new playground this month since Connor starts . . . . SOCCER on the 23rd at a park in Cypress we have never been too. Should be lots of fun!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Wow. I am so NOT starting out 2010 on a good note in the blogging world am I?!?! I just don't know where to start! I left off at Christmas Eve and was hoping to add Christmas with pictures but alas. Just haven't had time. Christmas morning was good! Santa brought a TV to Connor's room (we moved our bedroom TV to his room and bought a new one for ourselves). He didn't even notice it when he woke up LOL! Santa also brought a kitchen set to the girls and an electric quad for Connor. The first thing Connor saw when he got in the living room was the kitchen and went straight for it. Emily on the other hand went straight for the quad! Too funny. Poor Taylor. She still wasn't feeling well and ending up not being a happy camper that morning. Emily ended up opening all the presents for the two of them (which was fine by both!). They got way too much stuff. They sure are spoiled and will NOT need anything new until their birthday's in November! Seriously!!!

After we spent the morning opening and playing with presents, we headed over to Uncle Harjinder and Aunt Edith's house.

All the cousins LOVED playing together. Here they are in the office watching Yo Gabba Gabba (their new favorite show!). The girls LOVED being dressed up in their dresses. The minute Emily put hers on, she started twirling in it.Too cute!! So all in all Christmas was a wonderful day!

New Year's weekend was very jam packed. New Year's day Surbjit's cousin got married so he went to that. We figured the kids sitting for a 2 hour + Indian ceremony was NOT going to happen so they stayed home with me. I took them to the park and we played for about an hour and then sat down for a picnic lunch. It was a nice day.

The 2nd day of the New Year dawned and we had two events to go to - Katrina's 4th birthday party and then Surbjit's cousin's wedding reception. It was definitely a jammed pack day. The birthday party was at 2pm. We then left at 4pm so we could go home, eat dinner, and then change and go to the reception which started at 6:30pm. The kids did really great eating lots of fruit (there was a TON at the reception) and enjoying the music. Of all the kids, I have to say Emily enjoyed it the most moving her hands and wiggling her body. Mona and Connor also loved to dance around the table. Of course considering my kids go to bed early, they did get a little tired. At one point Connor had his head on the table and was ready to fall asleep! We ended up leaving at 9:30pm and all three fell asleep on the way home. Even when we brought them inside and changed them into their PJs they still were sleeping. Taylor ended up sleeping in until 9am on Sunday!!! THAT is UNHEARD of!

So that was our busy first weekend of the New Year. If that is any indication of how the rest of the year is gong to go, we will not have a non busy weekend!! In some respects, that's nice to keep us out of the house and going places etc but sometimes it's just nice to sit down and relax too. Hopefully we'll get to do both this year!!!!

Christmas Eve

Well, I keep writing posts in my head but I never seem to come here and actually post. I keep saying I'll wait for the pictures but right now we have had the sickies invade our house so who knows when I'll get a chance to post pictures. So let's do one day at a time. =)

Well, unfortunately Taylor had a fever on the 23rd and we got a call from preschool saying she was falling asleep and had a fever. So they gave her tylenol and let her sleep. I guess when she woke up, she was fine so they never called me back and Surbjit picked her up at normal time. I don't remember if she had a fever later that night but definitely Christmas Eve morning, she had a fever. Luckily I was already off that day and I was going to spend it with the kids, making cookies for Santa and appetizers and dips for us to enjoy all day. Well, Taylor decided to nap all morning and Connor and Emily played together (quite well I might add! There wasn't much screaming or yelling going on that morning. It was so nice!!!). I ended up taking Taylor to the doctor and she was diagnosed with a bad chest cold. So not much we can do. Went back home and she napped some more.

While she was napping that afternoon, I ran to the grocery store real quick and then Connor and Emily helped me make chocolate chip cookies. Yum yum!! They turned out so good thanks to my little helpers. I think we will do that every year from now on. =) Bigi also joined us and spent the night. The kids later got to watch Polar Express before going to bed and also got to unwrap ONE present each. All three went to bed in their cool new Christmas PJs and we slept until about 5 am the next morning. Thankfully Taylor did ok that night but she still had a fever on Christmas and was NOT into opening presents!!

The Christmas Musical 2009 @ Crescent Ave. Preschool

So the Christmas musical was a HIT! Well, at least I think my kids did awesome! =) There was a little crying but it turned out well!!

Connor walking into the church. He saw us sitting there and waved and said hi. =) I didn't really get a picture of the girls. Taylor had started crying and I didn't want her to see us for fear she'd want to stay with us. Emily was FINE. Taylor stopped crying when they got on stage and things settled down a bit. That was more than I could say for this one girl who cried throughout the ENTIRE musical. =( Poor thing! There was even another boy that the parents ended up taking out about 1/2 way through the performance.

When he noticed Daddy taking a picture (at this point all the kids were just standing on stage and the parents were like paparazzi standing in front taking pictures!!!!) he had to be his funny self. Of course, he was goofing around with Connor W (the boy next to him) during the performance too. But he sang and did mostly what he was supposed to do!

And as part of their festivities, they had tables set up for each classroom. They asked parents to donate baked goods and holiday crafts for sale with the proceeds benefitting the classroom. These were the cookies, peanut krackle, fudge and brownies that I made!

It was a good night and we were able to share it with Bigi, Uncle TJ, Auntie Debbie and Mona. Plus we were lucky to have Jackie, Brian and Grant there too!(They are the twins old daycare providers - well Jackie is. Brian and Grant are her sons). Uncle Harjinder and Aria were supposed to join us too but unfortunately Aria got sick so they had to pass. No worries! We taped the whole performance (well almost all of it!) and I will try and make copies for everyone's enjoyment! I know the kids had a blast and really had fun. I think I have some blossoming singers, dancers, and actors on my hands. =D

Christmas Musical

Tonight is the kids Christmas Musical. I'm so excited to see them dance and sing. The last couple days I've been asking the girls if they dance and sing in it and to show me. They start singing softly and moving their arms in movements. It's too cute!! Connor even has a speaking part! He's had it memorized since basically the first day. He even knows the girl's part before his.

It was too cute this morning I was talking to the girls about their musical and how much fun they are going to have singing and dancing. Then I mentioned brother having a speaking part and Emily said she wanted a speaking part too. =) So I said his line to them and Taylor and Emily repeated it to me. So cute! Not that they could memorize something this young but maybe next year!

We are definitely going to videotape it. It's supposed to be a short program and then they have a Holiday Boutique afterwards. They asked the parents to bring Holiday crafts and/or baked goods so I made a bunch of baked goods this past weekend (cookies, peanut krackle, fudge and brownies). Each classroom has a table and the proceeds from the sale go back to that classroom. Apparently they are even going to have crafts the kids made for sale to their parents. =)

Connor was so excited this morning and kept asking who was coming. He was so excited to hear that Bigi, Uncle and Aria were going to be there. He kept telling his teacher this morning that his cousins would be there. He asked if his Aunties and Mona would be there but I couldn't tell him for sure and didn't want him disappointed if they didn't show up because it sounded like he really wanted everyone there. Whoever doesn't end up making it, we'll have it on video!! =) Hopefully I can figure out a way to take bits and pieces out to share with everyone because I doubt I'll be able to upload the whole thing to the Internet. It'll be too big a file. But stay tuned. I'll definitely have pictures to share!!!

We have Annual Passes!!

We just bought annual passes for Knott's Berry Farm for Surbjit, Connor and myself - the twins are still free for another year. =) They were offering a really good deal and we couldn't beat it. All we have to do is go three times and we more than cover it. Yeah!!! So whoever comes out to visit (HINT HINT!) we will probably take you to Knott's one day! =D

C (interuppting me): I know Mom! I know who made the fog.

No Binkies & Big Girl Beds

Well we had a wonderful birthday for Connor & a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with Grandma & Grandpa. But the most noteworthy news is - no more binkies and we are in big girl beds!!! Emily is taking it much better than Taylor. How did this occur you ask? When we got to Grandma & Grandpa's on Tuesday night (like 1 am so more like Wednesday morning), the girls were UP. Well so was Connor but I at least can tell him to lie down. So we played a little and they still had their binkies from the ride and I proceeded to tell them that Grandma does not allow binkies in her house. They immediately took them out of their mouths and handed them to me. And that was the end. It was not smooth. Still isn't as Taylor keeps waking up. At least now she is asking for her blanket instead of a binkie.

Of course, when we got home Saturday night, as soon as we put them in their cribs they cried for their binkies. We did not give in and they went to bed within about 10 mins. (They were tired!). So Sunday morning we switched their beds to toddler beds and they are big girls now and don't need their binkies!! So far it's kinda working. I just need to figure out how to get Taylor to calm herself down and QUIT waking up in the middle of the night. I think I need to hit the store and buy two toddler sheet/comforter sets so I can tuck them in and maybe that will help. I can only try right??

Last night Taylor kept waking up every hour. We tried to ignore her but she kept getting louder. Guess why?? She made it into the hallway and took her shirt off.?.? Not sure why. Surbjit asked her what was wrong but she was so worked up it took her awhile to say anything. Finally she said she had to go potty so Surbjit took her to the potty. Did she go? No but she tried. Whatever. Of course this morning she wouldn't wake up. Gee I wonder why she was so tired. Ugh. I hope tonight is better!!!

2 Year Check Up

Seriously?? Really?? The twins are TWO!! Where did the time go? I have to say though except for the tantrums and the it has to be my way - I LOVE this age. They are learning so much and enthralled with so much that it's just plain FUN.

So anyway, we had the annual check-up yesterday. And silly me. I took them myself. Ha. I ended up calling Surbjit and requesting backup. The girls would NOT calm down from the time they saw the nurse. Ugh. Actually Taylor did once I gave her a pop-pop (lollipop) and I put the music video for Bolt on. Of course once the doctor got to her it was all over again. LOL! When he said they needed to have thier blood drawn I knew I needed reinforcement! Thankfully, Surbjit got there right before the shots so he was able to comfort one while i held the other. The blood drawing was a nightmare too. Emily did great (so unlike her!) but Taylor would not calm down and in turn, it caused her blood to stop flowing so they had to poke her again on the other side. Thankfully that is all done and over with and now it's Yearly check ups from now on! YEAH!! I have to wonder though that when Dr. Karp goes to pick up his son if they will start crying when they see him at preschool. LOL!

Stats:

Weights: 24 lbs 13 ozs & 24 lbs 9 ozs. It was crazy! I'm amazed I remember those number although I don't remember who was which.

Height: Taylor 33 1/4" Emily 34"

So if what they say is true and you double their height at 2, Taylor will be about 5'6" and Emily will be 5'8". Their brother will be about 6'. It will be interesting to come back here and see if this is true! Regardless, it appears that all my children will be taller than me! =)

THE Birthday Party

Well, we did the Birthday party on Sunday. I have SO many pictures I have NOT uploaded pictures yet. I will do that tonight. The kids had a blast! I really liked having it at MyGym. It was perfect for the 2-5 year olds. We had a couple kids who were 9 and 8 and they were a little bored. Good thing they were late and were only there for like 30 minutes! =) Hee hee. It was 1 1/2 hours and that was perfect! The kids got to do so much. They danced, they played dodge ball, they got to pick up turtile droppings (i kinda missed this game but the kids loved it!), they hula-hooped. We did the birthday march in which Emily did NOT want to sit in the car so I held her the whole time and Connor helped pull. They sang Happy Birthday, they ate cake and we ended with the zip line! Everyone was able to ride the zip line. Connor didn't really want to at first. All the kids went and then his sisters got to ride a swing on the zip line (which they LOVED. I was shocked. I thought Taylor would give me a problem as she hates the swing at the park but she didn't want to get out!). When Connor saw his sisters ride on the swing that's what he wanted to do. So they found a bigger swing and he got to ride the zip line too.

All in all, a GREAT birthday party. I'm just glad it's over and done with and I don't have to worry about anything for a full year now. =) Yeah! We are taking all three kids to Disneyland on Monday which is Connor's birthday. He is free on his birthday as part of Disney's promotion this year and the twins are under 3 so they are free! Should be lots of fun. Taylor LOVES Mickey Mouse so it will be interesting to watch her. I really hope we get to see Mickey while there. ;)

We also went to the aquarium last Friday while Grandma was here. The kids loved looking at the fishes and walking around. We found a rainfall exhibit and the kids just LOVED it. Kept wanting to go back. It was nice too because we got there about 1/2 hour after it opened and it was empty. So i didn't have to worry about the kids wondering around and getting lost in the crowd. As we were leaving around 11:30 it was getting crowded. Still not as crowded as when I've been there before but I hate crowds now. (Oh, I'm gonna love Disney huh?!?) =D

So that's our story for the past week. We have one week "off" and then we are headed to Grandma and Grandpa's Tuesday night for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing their new house and the kids want to see Grandpa. It will be nice for them to see Grandma again too. =) The kids have their Thanksgiving Feasts at school tomorrow. I'm glad it's this week and not next as they are only there one day next week due to Disneyland and going to Grandma & Grandpa's. So if you don't hear from me for awhile it's because we are busy! But I promise I will send out pics of the birthday party and stuff SOON!!!

When is a weekend NOT busy????

Especially this time of year with MY family. So lots we did last weekend, and lots to do coming up. My goodness. Well, on Friday I ended up staying home with Emily. She woke up crying and felt hot so we took her temp and it was 101.5. Eek. I took Connor and Taylor to daycare and kept Emily home with me. She was acting fine all morning. She ran two errands with me. We ate lunch. She went down for her nap right away and when she woke up, she was not a happy camper. Took her temp again 102.0. So off to the doctor who diagnosed her with an ear infection. Prescribed antibiotics and off we went.

Bigi came over and spent the night since we were all going to Day Out with Thomas on Saturday so we got the kids ready for bed and left for a couple hours to enjoy some time alone. Went down to the beach and walked the pier and then got some coffee (hot chocolate for me =) ) and walked up and down main street, then headed home. It was a nice distraction.

Saturday woke up, got everyone dressed and fed and were out the door! The kids LOVED Thomas. Well maybe not Emily so much but that was because she still wasn't feeling good. The all got to pick out something at the Thomas gift shop. Connor got the breakdown train and the girls each picked a toothbrush. Hey, I'm not going to argue! We left Thomas and headed to a nearby park we saw and ate lunch. It would have been a nice park except for all the graffiti everywhere. Oh well. We quickly ate and then headed home because Connor and I had to head up to Victorville for Dylan's 6th birthday party.

Got home (all three kids feel asleep on the way home) and then I grabbed a few things and off Connor and I went. It was a bowling party! How fun. I haven't bowled in FOREVER. And it sure showed. LOL! Connor even did better than I did (although in my defense I didn't have the bumpers in the gutters!). After the party we headed over to Melanie's to visit for awhile since we were there. While we were at the bowling alley, Connor found a new friend. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in the past but he ALWAYS gravitates towards older girls. And this day was no exception. Melanie's sister has a 10 year old daughter Grace who Connor instantly started hanging around and playing with. Even after the party when we went to Melanie's. Too funny. And she didn't mind him at all so that was nice too. =) We ended up leaving a little after 10pm so I didn't get home until after 11pm. LONG DAY!

Sunday we slept in a little (very little) and stayed around the house all day. We did go for a walk to the park and the kids played there for a little over an hour. They loved running, climbing and sliding. And Connor befriended another girl that was at the park. Well, she tried to befriend Taylor and Emily first but they would have nothing to do with her. =D

So that was our weekend. This is going to be a very busy week ahead. We have a Holiday on Wednesday and then Grandma is coming on Thursday. Friday we are going to head to the Aquarium (I hope that's ok if you are reading this LOL!) and then Saturday will be a relaxing day before Sunday which is when we decided to do the kids birthday party. Yes, all three at once. Yikes! At least I get it over and done with right?!? Meanwhile, this week I will be busy getting the stuff together for the birthday party since I have done exactly NOTHING so far. I ordered plates, napkins and goody bags but I have to fill them, order cakes, get some appetizer type food together etc. At least I don't have to clean or set up. But still it will be one hectic week!
